I took some before and after engine bay temps to see what impact the headers would have on the compartment. Car is stock and has newly installed fabspeed headers with a coat of swain white lightning. The supplied heat shields were also installed. I'm going to measure db change as well... but haven't gotten there yet.

With the few samples I made and given the drive I did could have been impacted by human factors, yadda yadda... the header tubes are running about 130 degrees hotter than the exhaust manifold shield. The alternator is about 30 degrees hotter. Interestingly the cats are running a fair amount cooler ~100 degrees. The outer engine bay walls right next to the headers, they show slightly cooler, but just about 20 degrees that could mean nothing. I am glad to see that while the pipes appear to be hotter, the engine bay temps don't seem to be impacted that much... I'll update if I have anything else of substance to share.

Thanks for doing that. I have been thinking about getting a themocouple logger and taking before measurements for a while. Then do some headers and contrast the after results. You saved me the effort.

The only thing that is concerning is the alternator heat load. That is a fairly weak link already. The added heat can't help.
