I just made the first modification on my 360 2003 MT The car is stock but has 3M and Capristo exhaust .I liked the F430 wheels so bought them to a fchat member and put new tires on them. What you guys think of the different look? I will maybe keep the OEM wheels in case when i sale the car the buyer wants to go back to stock; But if somebody drops me a 2000 usd check i will release them ( new Hankook tires on them 400 miles since new). I only speak for myself but to me the 430 wheels just dont go well with the 360 lines. They look good on a 430. The only wheels I have ever seen that actually improve the looks are the CS 19 inch wheels and a hand full of nicely sculpted mono block wheels. Most others degrade or take away or clash with the beauty of the 360 imo.
I am a fan of the 430 wheels on the 360 as you can see from mine. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 360 looks GREAT with the 430 wheels. SO much better than the starfish in my humble opinion. I think you did well. Congrats!
I think it looks great. My general rule with wheels is later model wheels can be added with no detriment to a car. i.e. 430 wheels to a 360, 355 wheels to a 348, etc.
I think that looks pretty good. The scud wheels are my favorite wheels to consider but I am convinced that 18" is best for our roads.
I like the 430 wheels on a 360, equal to the starfish ( opinions anyway) but i would only change the OEM 's with challenge ...
Like the change and improves the overall beauty of the 360. I am about to remove my "Stars" from my 03 F1 Coupe and replace with New Challenge recently purchased. My wife says I have 6 weeks to remove the new Challenge wheels from the closet, but I am having trouble deciding best tires and sizes. Docf
Interestingly, based on my non-scientific survey of Ferrari owners and non-Ferrari owners, only Ferrari owners think the 430 wheels look better and "update" the car. Everyone else like the starfish wheels better, or don't notice any difference. My conclusion is that owners only think the 430 wheels are more modern because they know they come from a more recent model car. Others without the history judge only on looks and initial impressions.
Interesting theory, but doesn't ring true. I would agree that non-Ferrari people tend to not focus on the wheels. However, most people who do notice prefer the 430 wheels. It is a combination of the shape and size (19's v. 18's). The starfish have more of a 1990s feel. The 430 wheels have a more contemporary profile and sharper lines (see recent 911, C7 and 458 wheels). All that being said, they both look good. Just a matter of preference.
It looks like everyone that responded owns a Ferrari so I think you were correct in the term "NON-SCIENTIFIC SURVEY" Nothing wrong with the starfish wheels, if I owned a 360 I would probably not change them. I do like the look of the 360 challenge wheels and the modular 3 piece wheels more.
Great thing about wheels is they are like shoes and handbags to my wife. Change them often for a different look. You can always go back.
Wheels definitely change the overall flavor of the car... First pic: 430 wheels in gunmetal when i bought the car Pic 2: Refinished Starfish while 430's were being re-colored Pic 3: Refinished 430's in silver As much as I like keeping the car original, the 430 wheels provide a fresher look.
