    Here you go for sharing.

If you are anal on protecting your paint finish like I am, here's what I recommend:

    Griots Garage FuelGuard.

I've had this stuff on all my cars and they are great on protecting the paint during refueling of possible left over fuel drips.

Works great, takes less than a minute to install. Cheap insurance on protecting our awesome paint finish.

I've never had any gasoline drip directly to the paint ever since I installed one of these.

Note: I have no affiliation to Griots. Just sharing info and hope it helps some of you too.

Am I the only one thinking, "Old floor mat and a stout pair of scissors"?

It's only $12.00. My time is worth more. And my car deserves better stuff than old floor mats....

    Just my opinion.

Maybe the US has different petrol pumps but I've never had a problem with drips in Europe.

With the price of fuel in the UK I wait for even the drips to drop into my tank ........so never get a problem !!!

Thx for sharing, Dan. I just use my finger to catch the drips. Don't forget your wife, though. She needs pampering too! LOL

The 308 came with one of these 37 years ago! ha! I put it back on to be original, but honestly, tap tap tap and be careful and there is no need. I guess this is good some place like NJ where you cannot fuel your own car!

How flexible is this? Can not tell if it is sticking away from the body of the car or limp enough to lie against the body.

Thanks for the idea. For all the times I have been on this site I never thought of this.

It's soft-ish rubber; you roll it up into the compartment when done filling. It stays on the car - won't scratch anything.

Thx for the idea, Dan. Here's my temporary 10 min. solution. Used a piece of scrap fabric backed vinyl 8cm X 15cm and cut a 5.4cm dia. hole. I do all my own fueling but if it eventually gets damaged by gasoline, it'll only take another 10 min. to carve out a replacement.

    Thanks everyone.

Mine is always only a suggestion. Im posting for sharing what I find and learn. Not telling anyone what to do or how to care for their own cars. To each his own.

Chuck, its made of high quality very flexible rubber. Its rolls out and rolls back in.
You can trim it too if you wish. Takes less than a minute to install.

    Gary, excellent work!
Yes, I pamper my wife too, as much as I pamper my 360.
I took my wife out to dinner last night, and taking her to a concert tonight.

I tell people, between my wire and my car - I'm broke! :)

My 355 had one. I guess Ferrari deleted it with the 360/430.

I just angle the fuel pump down and remove carefully so nothing can drip out when I remove it. That seems to be the best solution to me :)

I just made my DIY for fun. Actually, always been able to fill up on my own. I've never had a problem with drips, spills or scratches with any of our cars. But it does look cool to have an OEM or equivalent. didn't mean to take anything away from your suggestion, Dan.
Appreciate your enthusiasm and suggestions. :)

I just use a paper towel each time I fill up. But this is a neat idea.

Do you also need to use a paper towel when drinking your coffee? LOL
