In process of moving to CA. My manual, 2001 360 Spider is completely stock but has never been tested. Just completed major service.
Started car to take for test, stalled once in driveway then ran fine. Completed drive cycle. When arrived for test everything normal.
Tech indicated that car stalled once during test and he restarted. Passed everything on test except functional check due to a P1537 error code. Also noted on way home that check engine light was on and car seems to be running a little rough.
Anything I can do to correct this or should I schedule a service appointment and let mechanic take care of.
    Thanks

That code does not look like it affects emissions. Diagnosis says to check ABS/ASR which could be a wheel sensor. Or for a CAN (Controller Area Network) malfunction.

If it really is running rough it shouldn't be driven or you can destroy a catalytic converter.

The error is traction control related. I suppose it is possible it came from him not turning it off during the test.

In any event it can't be fixed on the internet and talking about it here isn't going to fix it for you.

get the CEL cleared. if it comes back, then it's off to the shop.

brian, people on the forum are helping each other. sometimes it's confusing but it often leads to next steps and helpful advice.

Right up until it includes wild uninformed guesses. Then it may be well intentioned but counterproductive.

Did the tester turn off the ASR to run the test on the rollers? If not, you will get an ASR malfunction indication. Many techs have never seen a Ferrari and don't know how to turn it off (they're supposed to ask you if they don't know). If nothing is wrong, it should reset after some driving cycles.

If it really is running rough (misfiring), as Brian said, don't drive it or you will toast the cats (misfiring dumps raw fuel into the exhaust, which cooks the converters).

Oh how I feel your pain. Welcome to the socialist republic of CA. The readiness codes always get me (Porsche, ferrari, BMW, etc). Probably a smog ref will be needed or "cough, cough, wink, wink"

Car is running fine now. I did not know to turn off the ASR, nor did tester do so.
Looks like plan is to clear CEL and then retest. Will error code clear on it's own? If not, something I can do or need to take to shop?
    Thanks

You need codes cleared and run drive cycle to get the monitors set and car smog ready. Otherwise it cannot be smogged. You can see if monitors are set if you have an OBDII reader. Without them set it is pointless to go to a smog station. You can search here for the drive cycle - the instructions from Ferrari have been posted many times. Or, if you just drive it long and frequent enough prior to smog then they should get set without need for the special drive cycle sequence. The drive cycle sequence seems to be for getting them set as fast as possible...

Stopped by mechanic (thanks Steve) to have codes cleared. Took for drive cycle and stopped my again to verify no new codes before driving to testing center.

    PASSED!

Thanks to all for your help.

Start by replacing the most expensive parts and then find out it was operator error all along!
