Picked up car from dealer yesterday and noticed some of the paint in the inside passenger door where hinge connects with car frame is chipped (peeled off) - its where the sensor is located that turns the interior light off and on when door opens and closes. Dealer said this has always been an issue with Ferrari and he said it happens also under hood - wiper cowl - hood hinges - door hinges - engine cover and A pillars.

Just want to gauge if other owners are experiences this? I actually bought an authentic Ferrari sticker and will stick it on over the area. You cant really see it unless door is open and you look for it but don't want it to spread.

    What year is the car?
Yes Ferrari paint in general can be bad. The black paint on the undersurface of my deck lid is peeling off. The white underneath it wasn't even primed.

I don't recall that with mine.. I'll recheck later today. The black paint doesn't crack too often IMHO...

It is a known issue, especially under the hood I believe. Had it there on my old F430.

Got to love these "known issues". Since chipping is in the inside part of the door panel, just going to put a Ferrari badge sticker to hide it and stop from spreading. Don't see this happening anywhere else, yet!

I haven't noticed any chipping on mine yet (black 2007 coupe). Did the dealer fix your window lift switch illumination problem? If so, what fixed it?

Yes! Faulty window regulator and sticky handle. Cpo'd parts. Labor came to 295. And they fixed my rear glove box.

My 2007 had the same door hinge area paint chipping/flaking when I purchased it at FNB in 2012. They had documented this on their inspection report and they had it repaired for me no charge. The repair seems to be holding up so far. No other areas of the paint are doing this.

My First Ferrari an 07 Cpe F430 had the same problem.

Traded it for my Scud and got 5k more than when I bought it 2 years ago. Dont worry about it.

09 16M ....paint flaking on undersurface of my deck lid

How did you guys paint over it because the undersurface isn't primed. I'd have to have then redo the whole undersurface of the deck lid.

It's incredible that a Ferrari can have so many annoying small issues.
Hard to believe that so many owners have the same issues, yet Ferrari just ignore it.

But the paint is easy to fix, what REALLY hacks me off big time is that sticky damn button issue.

Just as well the cars are so sexy or I would have changed brands (back to Porsche) ages ago.

I totally agree. The stickies has been a problem for YEARS. Don't they test their cars in hot climates? Most manufacturers have a test facility in Arizona. Not sure where the European manufacturers test.

Totally agree. Most car companies would do recalls etc...to fix known issues. As mentioned, I will cover up with a ferrari badge sticker. Not worth getting door removed and having them repaint it unless it gets worse. Not sure how else to do it since inside the door panel is a different paint than what's on exterior so can't just touch up
