I second this. Gobble is the man. He took care of me a few years ago and answered all my questions and concerns.
Thanks I have not accepted the car yet I want them to try to find the books. I have asked them to contact the former owner, I will contact the gentleman referred by you thanx. I am just amazed that the books would be missing the tool kit was complete and cover and inflator was there. I am giving the dealer time to react I got to paint barns this weekend been away for three years time for some property repair. I have paid for the car under the agreement the books would be found. also contacted FDealer they will work with me no surprise there. If you know someone I would appreciate the help Thanx again. This is a very tired subject to talk about missing codes, I have been reading the forum it amazes me.
After dealer does his thing I will keep gobble is the answer everyone is agreeing on that's the ticket, don't feeling like messing with codes and Fdealership.
Happy to help if you need me. I'm in Wisconsin. The two remotes I have right now are spoken for but I'm working on getting a few more. I have one Euro remote if anyone needs one.
It amazes me as well when there are no books in any car, let alone a car worth this much money. My car had no main red key and the Ferrari dealer was no help at all. It's just a car to them, pay the money and get out.
...and more importantly the alarm system code. You can buy one from FNA through your dealer but they won't guarantee it's the correct one -- WTF. Alan
I endorse gobble as well. I had my FOB cloned last year. I was fortunate enough to be able to drive to his place from Chicago. It was one of my first drives and it was awesome!
For info, today I picked a set of new remotes and PIN from Ferrari (Part#000171852). Price was $675.00. Took about ten days to get. Programmed without issue thanks to excellent instructions provided by Terry Phillips on this forum. Parts Manager said latest price for the full kit, including new ECU (If you don't have the PIN code), is $1250.00. BTW, the Master remote seems to be no longer Red. It is black with a sticker which says "Master". Regards, Andy
I have 2 euro remotes and 1 US remote for sake. I was going to go down the cloning route, but decided to go F stock instead. Contact me if interested. (No, I can't clone them)
Andy- Those prices have come down quite a bit, thankfully. Assume you already had your PIN. At that price, that is cheaper than some of the prices asked individually for the fobs.
So the dealer provided two new fobs and the code (which he used in the SD2) to program them? I'm confused as I was under the impression that the master fob is used to initially program the engine ECU at which point the master is just like any other fob. I would presume that Magneti Marelli supply the ECU, fobs and code to Ferrari and they program the ECU at factory as the car could not be driven otherwise To my knowledge the alarm PIN is used to deactivate the alarm if the fobs are not available or are damaged. I was quoted $500 for the code for my car but they would not guarantee it was the correct one. Alan
I'm confused. The dealer gave you a code but also quoted you $500 to get the code? If you have the code you can use it to program a new set of 3. You can't use it to add one or two remotes. If you don't have it you can pay the $500 to get it, although I've heard from a decent number of people that the code they paid for didn't work.
Alan- He had his old PIN and bought a new set of three matched fobs ($675) that come with a new PIN. He then used the old PIN to get the Alarm ECU to accept the new PIN and the three new fob IDs. His old PIN was then toast and he had whatever fobs left over to sell to make up for part the cost. Or he could have Gobble clone it to the red fob if he was really paranoid. Gobble can copy the EEPROMs of a whole set of fobs and send it to you and save it for complete security. One at a time, naturally.
