    Hello to All,
When I purchased my 360 it had the 430 wheels on it. I know it's been done many times before but I'd rather keep the size the same as the ones that Ferrari recommends. So I bought a set of the 360 multi spoke wheels.

    Now for my question,
Since the 430 wheels are larger what adaptation had to be done to have them fit if any?

If adaptions was done I'm going to have to remove them when I replace the wheels with the 360 size ones.
    Thanks in advance,
    Roberto

None. Remove and replace. If spacers were needed for the 430 wheels (which I doubt) remove them and bolts on your 360 wheels.

Roberto- Offsets on the F430, 360, and Scud wheels are all nearly identical. Even the diameters of the tires are very close because the 19" wheels carry lower aspect ratio tires. Same wheel bolts will work, too.

Here are the numbers so you can see what I mean.

    360

    Five Spoke and Modular 18”, 5 X 108 mm
    Front 7.5J X 18 ET 31.5 mm, Rear 10J X 18 ET 38.95 mm

I have 430 wheels on my 360. I did nothing. They fit and look great in my opinion.

Those 430 wheels will be an easy resale piece, lots of 360 owners looking for that upgrade.

Funny how those wheels look even better on a 360 than they do on an F430, and I like them on the F430. If they had been wide enough, I would have put a set on my 575M.

I like the 360 wheels, but the 430 wheels are even better.

I bought a pair of new F430 wheels on Ebay.de for my 360 last year.
After 7 years of ownership I wanted just to upgrade a bit.
I bought the F430 OE sizes tires.

It just didn't work on my 2000'. All the time on braking the ABS jumped in, terrible.
The size difference of F430 tires setup is 6%... and the 360 computer can only cope with 4,5% difference max. I didn't want to put tractor tires in front so I sold the set again on Ebay.

I believe after the summer of 2002 they got other computers.

Looked great though, still have the pics ;)

    One more question.

What's a quick way to see if the car has been lowered?

I calculated that the 360's wheel diameter is +10mm larger in the front compared to the 430's and -5mm in the rear compared to the 430's.

    Thanks,
    Roberto

I too am thinking of doing this as I am in the same position as the OP although I haven't purchased 360 wheels yet, just thinking about it. 430 wheels came on my 360 and its always bugged me that the car doesn't have the wheels it was meant to have. I do get that 430 wheels are a direct bolt on and probably don't really affect that car that much but I guess I have this purity of being stock issue. Plus this happened last week.

So questions. The wheel was repaired by a run of the mill Firestone tire center and when asked about the integrity of the repair they said not to worry and it does have a one year warranty for the repair. Besides size and style what are the differences between these wheels. Are the 360 wheels slight more durable due to the thicker sidewalls? Is handling affected? Or put another way I hit the pothole that did this pretty hard but not that hard. Are 430 wheels simply more delicate? I mean a single 430 wheels seems to be around $1400 but you can get a whole set of 360 wheels for as low as $1000 on eBay.

The 430 tires are lower profile (about a half inch shorter sidewall) they make the wheels more prone to pot hole damage. The 18" wheels, have more rubber on them and are better protected.

We in Europe have several problems with F430 wheels on our 360's.
When we use the OE F430 tires the ABS gives errors. It jumps in way to early. Undriveable for me. So I sold the F430 set again on Ebay Germany.

It seems that the 360's after the 2002 summer brake have different software which gives more tolerance. The older computer allows only max 4,5% difference in height of the front/rear wheels. With the F430 setup this is 6,5%.

I was also surprised of the weight. The F430 wheels are really heavy! The difference on the rear was 4kgs per wheel!

But, it looked great. Here's a pic of those 2 weeks.

(I notice now I already posted this half a year ago here... sorry ;-)

If you just fitted the wheels and stated driving you will have problems like ABS and other non-related intermittent faults happening for no apparent reason.

The ECU needs to learn the new size of the wheel; it still thinks the OEM’s are fitted. When changes are made in wheel size you need to reset the ECU. Disconnect the power and go through the reset self-learn then drive off doing very slow circles both right and left will allow the ECU to calibrate the new wheel size. This is what I need to do when changing from Slicks to R rated or wets with the Challenge car if they are different sizes in diameter. I’m pretty sure it’s the same deal for the road cars also.
