The dealer (Maserati of Sacramento) just sent me the SD3 reading on my 360 ('03).
I am assuming it is good? (the only thing I understand is there is no clutch wear or hydraulic failure). They just replaced the clutch and flywheel and will test drive tomorrow. (Had 17k miles on original clutch). I am hoping for delivery no later than next week (fingers crossed). It has been long painful 3 weeks w/o a car esp since we only get 4 mos of sun in the Pacific NW...

Looks like they bent the heck out of the challenge grill in that one pic. Was it permanent damage?

I thought about that but not that I am told yet. Hopefully it is just "overlap." The sales consultant keeps me posted of developments at the end of each day.

The General Manager of this dealership is a close friend of mine, he's a really good ethical guy, he will send you a solid car. I also know the gentleman that used to own this car, very meticulous multiple exotic car owner that prides himself in the care and condition of his cars, it's a good one. As far as the picture with the challenge grill, that is just the reflection of the lights, I don't think it's damaged.

Thank you for this piece of info. It is quite reassuring. My experience with the dealership so far has been very positive.

Is the grille that hard to remove? Seems to me with an operation like that, it would be a good precaution to just remove it...

It normally does.....the gearbox mount is under the air box on the frame.

I'm not sure what that picture is about.......They have removed a lot of parts that needn't be disturbed to go in from above.

that challenge grill is bent ! I know people are saying its the angle of the picture, etc. but its BENT. And why are they taking out the gearbox from the top ? if they were going to out the top that they should have removed the grill.

I know nothing technically about the 360 with regards to clutch work. I'll just ask the sales consultant anyway.

Guys... Did you for a second think that it DID come out from the bottom then they used the hoist to just position it out of the way. You get to use a lot more of the shop if you condense a bit. For example... Look at the bumper set off next to the car... Should they have left it at the bottom of the car too? Its just moved to get it out of the way.

It does seem a bit daft to dangle it precariously above the engine bay though.........

Even if you did, there is a big cast bracket welded in the middle, right behind it, so not much point.

    I was sure of that.

And who cares how they take out the transmission? As long as the car is assembled correctly what difference does it make.

No need to freak out a new buyer and raise doubts about a reputable dealership.

Thanks Colby (and to all who responded). I wasn't really worried but just decided to ask my sales consultant, Jason Garbe, anyway. We correspond almost daily as he keeps me posted
of developments and patiently addresses all my concerns. My experience with the dealer (especially Jason) has been really very positive. Although am dying to get the car, I'd rather that the work be done properly -which I never doubted they are doing.

We put Fabspeed cat bypass pipes on that car at one point, are they coming with the car?

Well, with some regret, I had them re-install the stock cat as I didn't want the CEL on all the time (until I've changed to a Fabspeed headers at some point). I'll get the pipes though.
I've heard that the engine sound with the pipes was really awesome.

Relax Ron, they now what they'r doing. I'm sure everything has a simple explanation, don't let this guys and their questions stress you out.

For what I can see the dealership has been quite 'attentive' with you...give them a chance.

By the way, if some accidental damage was made (I doubt but accidents happens), I'm sure they ill pay for it so...ya chill;)
