I'm thinking of adding a car and was thinking of either a CS or a scud but can't decide. I have driven them both and love them both - what do I buy? Help please.

If you've got an F40, start with the CS, then the Scud, and then the Specialle.

You may want to search for this topic. There are many opinions and ultimately the car you prefer is the answer. By the way what a wonderful spot to be in.

CS more Raw and a better investment IMO. Both are amazing cars, but i'd rather have a CS for long term ownership. I think the CS is one of Ferrari's best designs.

Buy Manolis' Giallo Modena Scuderia, it's cheaper than the Giallo Modena CS for sale at Ferrari of Denver.

You need a spider in your garage, get a 16M :)
Otherwise a CS gets my vote.

Scud is a superior car in terms of performance , handling, tecnology, CS is a good money value now.
buy the one you like most. I personally love the Scud better.

I owned a CS in the past for about 4 years. However having driven a Scud extensively I can say that in my opinion, in every conceivable and tangible way the Scud is a much better car.
Whether you prefer the looks of a 360 vs a 430 of course is down to personal preference. However as Ferraris, in my opinion, are made to perform and reward the driver in the process, the Scud is far ahead in those terms. All this talk about investment, future value is crap IMO(at least certainly for cars that are under 10-15 years old-and which of course is the scourge of our hobby and passion....)

Thanks for comments, I am leaning towards CS. Apologies if this is groundhog day - I take it this is not the first time this has been raised!

If an option, I would go with the 16m.

If not, I would go with 430 Scud then 360 CS.

16M is my choice but it is 75K higher. For 160K you can get a really nice CS and thats where my money would be. I have owned both and it is true the Scud is a better car technologically. No question. The CS "feels" more special for some reason.

+1 to all of your points but definitely to money is the scourge of the hobby. All the talk about what's it worth, how much did you pay, what can you get for it is really a different hobby.

    Scud!

    err...no, wait...I mean CS!

Seriously, keep in mind its not marriage...you can own one and then the other, no law saying you can't...CS in particular are relatively easy to sell without a loss or high transaction cost these days, so perhaps start there if losing money on the buy-each strategy is a deal stopper for you.

i had a new scud and 16m - both great cars. but neither made it to my "collection car" bucket. i bought the best cs i could find about 3 years ago and it instantly became a keeper. cs is slower and inferior to a scud in every measurable way but the smile factor is immense. the only 430 in my keeper bucket is a manual transmission spider which i much prefer over the 16m. everyone tells me that it will be a lousy investment compared with the 16m - i don't care. i simply enjoy it more as a road car

    mmm that sounds good.

Today I saw a scud with no stripe but stickers for stripes, indistinguishable from painted stripes unless you ran your nail over the edge - is that the best of both worlds?

I love CS but I do like the scud too ... this is a tough decision ... this is a bad predicament, surely I can't buy both? No one with any sense would do that ....
