Sorry for the newbie question but now that the bat is flat how do I jump start it? Will I need a new bat? Thanks

Do not jump start the car. Use the battery disconnect switch and then connect a charger to the battery and charge. Reconnect the battery and do a run cycle. Every time you deep discharge a normal lead/acid battery, it slightly degrades the battery, but no telling how badly. You will know fairly quickly if you need a new battery. If you have an absorbed glass mat (AGM) battery, deep discharge will not do any damage.

Jumping a Ferrari can lead to all kinds of ECU problems.

Don't jump start the car. Connect it to a battery charger and wait for the battery to get recharged. Then, drive it!

Here you go. Got tired of writing it so saved it to hard drive:

    Run cycle.

Turn battery disconnect switch off and turn off all accessories (stereo, A/C, etc).
Let engine get completely cold or wait at least 30 minutes.
Insert key in ignition and leave for 30 seconds.
Turn ignition to on and leave for 30 seconds.
Turn ignition off and leave for 30 seconds.
Turn ignition on, wait for Check OK, and start.
Let idle with no input whatsoever for 10 minutes.
Turn accessories back on and drive gently for 10-15 minutes at least.
You will have to insert stereo code, if required.

Awesome thanks so much. A fellow ferrari member from this forum was kind enough to come over with a CTek charger so will take the battery off and hopefully let it charge for 1-2 hours (?!). I will then follow that run cycle
    Thanks Taz

If it's a CTek charger (Like my 7002) I would leave it on overnight, or until it shows a full charge, before doing anything. For a 90 Ah battery it shows in the manual it's a 11-13 hour charging time to recondition a deep discharged battery.

Just like everyone said - never jump start a Ferrari. Turn battery main switch off. Recharge the battery via battery terminals to full charge. Dont use max current as you dont want to cook your battery. Use slow charge or low amp.

Once the battery is fully charged - remove battery charger. Turn main battery switch on, then do a system reset as Terry has recommended.

I keep reading this comment "turn main battery switch off". What does that mean? I have a CTEK charger and would like to connect it to trickle charge but I don't know how or what to do. I am so concerned about touching or connecting the wrong thing and blowing up the car.... joking.... but just a little. I have an 04 360 spider. Does anyone have a video or can help me in setting up the CTEK. I do not have the terminals that came with the CTEK as I put them on my motorcycle and forgot to take them off when I sold them. Should I get new terminals?.. Please help this poor uninformed novice.

main battery switch is in the front trunk. in the passenger side. It's a dial you turn CW to turn off.

don't know anything about CTEK sorry.

You can get new connectors for your battery tender from CTEK. I believe that the 430 has a connector for the Ferrari tender. Not sure if the matching connector is available from CTEK (who made the Ferrari tender). I also believe if you use the factory tender connector is gives you a warning icon that the tender is connected when you turn on the ignition.
Here is a link to all of the battery connectors.

I installed my ctek to the terminals behind the drivers seat and ran the plug just up out of the cover box. This way I simply plug the charger into the small plug poking out behing my seat and then plug the charger in. works fine....

Terry's procedure is belt and braces (IMO you could safely start the car in a shorter number of steps). However, he is ensuring that the motorised throttle bodies and flaps have enough time to reset properly and that the engine re-learns its adaptive parameters.

I'm just curious if his battery took a charge and he got the car running. Bugs me when someone posts a question, gets it answered, then disappears!
