    Hello,
    I got the CEL light and connected the OBD2 reader and the car issued a P049 "secondary air injection system bank 2" alert.

    I did a search on FChat with no results so can someone help me on what is the issue and what needs to be done so I can tell my mechanic so we don't start chasing non issues.

    First 2 things I would check for any vacuum leaks, broken or brittle hoses, and Check power to the SAI pump. Check these 2 things first and I can help you from there.

    I suspect it has a frozen shutoff valve on that side. Pretty common.

    If it was vacuum related I don't think either side would work and it would have codes for both.

    Depends on location of leak.
