    You know the noise you hear when you open the door of an F1 car. I can hear that faintly when driving, typically when stopped and going from N to 1st gear. It's pretty faint. Is this normal?

    The whine you are describing when opening the door is the f1 pump running to pressurized the f1 hydraulic system. While driving, the system pressure drops and the pump has to run to re-pressurize the system to its setpoint. I hear it whilst driving only at low rpms/speeds. Normal sound to me.

    I hear it too on my 430. But its almost every 20-30secs while driving. it that normal?
