Hi Folks, Looking at a 2006 Ferrari F430 with 13xxx miles - The car is listed for $125k - I just had the PPI done. 1. Slightly Bent Front Wheels 2. 2011 Tires (Will need to change tires in 2-3k miles) 3. Rear Diffuser Scraped 4. Sticky Interior (Taken Care of) 5. Clutch 8% 6. Front End Creeks (Taken Care of) I went and saw the car - it's in beautiful shape. Options are: Red Brake Calipers 6 CD Changer Battery Charger USA + Prewiring Daytona Style Seat Electric Seats RED Insturment Panel Scuderia Shields Ball Polished Rims Roll Bar Upholstery Color Leather Rear / Door Mould High power hifi w/subwoofer Soft top color All stiching in Color Daytona Seat Leather stripes Material for dashboard inserts If I can get the deal at $122k .. Is it a good deal? Please weigh in your thoughts and options. I wish I could attach a picture - but it's RED w/ Tan leather SPIDER.
When you say the clutch is 8% - you are saying 8% worn with 92% remaining? Did the wheels have road rash on the rims - strange that BOTH are bent? For a Spider, I think it is a great deal, especially if it is exactly what you are looking for.
No. $90k wholesale? No way. I think the price & miles are fair. The clutch question is a big one. I'm assuming it's got 8% remaining, but I could be wrong. Don't know for sure on that one.
I'm somewhere in the middle of these two numbers. Been searching for 4 months for the right F430 at the right price. 06's with the mileage stated are "selling" in the 105 to 115 range. Wholesale is another world. 458 prices are dropping and consequently f430's are taking a hit. My 2 cents. Add a couple of grand for Spider.
The only US 06 430 spiders with low miles listed below 125K Since January I have seen have salvage titles. Red Tan, non salvage in excellent condition at 122K is a deal. Buy it and enjoy the ride! The prices are falling, wholesale price, my friend bought a blah blah blah guys aren't actually buying one they are looking at adds on e- bay craiglist and dreaming......
Price is reasonable for the market right now. There is a wide range of values for these cars. If you are flexible on color/options/mileage then you can offer 10 sellers $110, you will probably find one that accepts. If your goal is to get the cheapest 06 430 then do that. On the other hand, if you found the car you want, if it looks and drives clean and speaks to you, then buy it. You're certainly not getting screwed at that price.
So you walk in at a Ferrari dealer and ask wholesale/trade in value of 430. and expect a real response? really?
I find this really funny. Recently a guy had a 2002 360 spider advertised in the classified section. It was red with 10k miles. The guy didn't want to give out the price but he finally did. He said he wanted 98k for it. I responded that it would sell for 85k and the guy got insulted and said he could get more for it. Other people chimed in that I was out of line. After seeing your number on a 2006 430 spider I think I was overly generous. You would probably value that car at 70k. Of course I am just guessing. I think you are a little low on your 100k number on the 430 but not by much. I think you are more realistic about pricing than most people on here.
I own an auto wholesale dealership and exclusively sell cars to independent used car dealerships. I also happen to own an 06 F430 so I follow the market closely. Wholesale for a Red/Tan 06 Spyder with 13k is closer to $112k - $115k. Offering $100k is below current wholesale assuming clean accident history (carfax / autocheck). I would buy every one of these cars for $100k given the chance. 10% seems to be the realistic goal for high end ($70k+) cars from my experience. Any money made on the back-end (warranties, marking up the financing rate, etc.) would be a bonus. Biased? Haha. I have no reason to omit any cars from the list, I simply copied and pasted the data from MMR but I left out all the cars before 2014 because that data would be outdated and somewhat irrelevant. Here is the complete list. At first I thought it was a good deal. But this afternoon I went to the FC section and went through a lot of the 430's that were listed on Ebay. Yes, many of these cars may have been rode hard and hung up wet, but many were around $115K, had low miles and complete service records. I think $100K may be low, but I think if you had the ability to offer $115K cash, you may get a better deal.
Update: Clutch 8% worn - 92% Remaining. I have given an offer - if they bite it .. I will be getting it this weekend
Good luck! I'm glad your thread resulted in some data graciously provided by one of the FChat members. I stand by my original contention that wholesale on a car like this is not $90k, not even really close to that (and I don't know why the hell we're talking wholesale anyway - use that word in an FCar sale and you'll get laughed at). If that car could be had for $100k, I'd get out my check book. Realistically, it's going to be closer to $120k. Even at that, it's a pretty good score, so good luck. Nice clutch by the way. Little bit curious as to WHY it was replaced when there's only 13k miles on the clock, but whatever.
I hope you get it. Let us know how it goes either way. I am sure it will be helpful to the next person.
I just bought at red tan 07 coupe with 8600 miles from an authorized dealer in very good condition. They told me they paid $130K for it, then CPO'd it and put some work into it. I would say on good cars you will pay a premium as always. In my research, I did talk with a wholesaler, at first he said he could get me a much better deal. I told him what I paid for the car, and he told me I got a great deal.
