    This being my first post I would like to introduce myself and my new car. I am 50 years old, live in Denmark and have thru the years had some semi exotic cars like jags and Porsche, but only now my real dream car. Beside form this my main interest is big game hunting.

    The car is a Modena 360 F1. Sold as a 2002 model (first reg), but the VIN shows is has been built in 2000. It has 41 000 km on the clock and is in very close to mint condition. It has never been driven in vinter (this is very important in northern europe as the roads are spread with salt in wintertime) It has a few stone chips om the front bumper and a very small dentation at the front hood.

    Only upgrade is a Fuchs sport exhaust system.

    It was bought from an German Ferrari dealer. It had a full service with cam belt change done when I bought it. I payed 59.000 Euro and 2.000 on top of that for an original GPS unit.
    But living in a semi communist country, I have to pay another 68.000 Euro in tax to get it the danish registration. So the total is 129.000 Euro (181.000 US$)

    The 7 hour drive home from Germany was my first experience in a F car and not do be forgotten soon. But of course most of you know.

    As with any older car there are some issues;

    - On the way home I noticed the smell og burnt oil twice. When I came home I could see that the canister for the F1 oil had spilled over and leaked on to the exhaust on the right side. To me it looks like the system was overfilled and the oil was pressed out of the vent hole in the cap. Has not been any leaks since.

    - The driver side seat has a bulge on the side. It can be seen on the photo under. My thought is that the filler material has separated. Anybody had the same problem? Solutions?

    - Last problem is a little bit more serious. After coming home I noticed that when cold started. the engine would have a high pitch squeaking sound for 20 seconds. During the last 4-5 seconds of the squeaking there is an additional sound a bit like the clutch plate of a AC unit slipping. Initially it would go away when the engine was warm, but now there is a low squeak all the time. No difference when shifting gear or with the AC off. To me it sounds like a gone bearing in a water pump or the like. I have attached a file with the sound.
    The dealer say all 360 have strange sounds when started cold! I am 100% sure that it is more than that. Any ideas?

    the squel could actually be the tensioners if I were to guess. Maybe the belt, depends on when the last belt service was done. May be a simple fix but I would get it checked out.

    Lovely car Carl, welcome! Looks like new including the seats. My car funnily enough has similar " issues", passenger seat has slight bulge but I don't even notice anymore. I had small dent near front emblem which PDR took care of with a glue puller. As for the sound clip, I hope that initial " whup whup whup" sound that disappears is nothing serious as mine does the exact same albeit not as loud. If my cars not stone cold it doesn't make that sound. I was told it was secondary air injection but maybe someone else could chime in if that's not it. Getting a Ferrari in Denmark is quite something, I've heard of the exhorbitant car tax from my wife's family in Copenhagen.

    Congrats Carl! I grew up in Denmark and visit family regularly, next time is Xmas - very familiar with the car taxes... Due to the scarcity of Ferraris in Denmark I am not sure if you have any independent Ferrari specialists there, and perhaps the dealer is your only option?

    Congrats Carl on making your dreams come true! She is a beauty!

    I bought my 2003 360 F1 8 months ago and mine is a dream car come true as well.

    It's difficult to accept the taxes they imposed in Denmark..............

    Sorry I dont have much information on the issues you described.
    I recommend finding a very reputable independent mechanic that can do a great job diagnosing and fixing those issues for you.

    Enjoy her and drive safe.
