I guess I should drive it straight to the junkyard now. It's worthless! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Man it's rough that Ferraris are considered high miles with only a few thousand miles. I personally think not only is a couple thousand miles a year low miles but it's also good for the car as long as it's well maintained with service records.
Very well said ! I just hit 73,000 miles (=115,000 kms) and the car is and looks pristine ! The only miles i m worried about are my own Life is short guys ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's funny, when I bought my 07 430, it had 8600 miles on it, which in Ferrari world is about right. When my friends, who don't know Ferrari, would ask year and milage, I would tell them, then they all would ask what is wrong with it, or do you know why they didn't drive it more, and I try and explain to my friends why it's normal for a Ferrari not to have very many miles.
I went through the same thing with my 07 F430. Bought it 14 Feb 14 with 8300 and now has 10400. Getting ready to put another 1K on it the first weekend in Dec. I guess we all take this photo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thats great, I had mine delivered in October, and I have put just over 1,000 miles on it. I have put it away for the winter, so no more miles this year, but looking forward to the spring and summer 2015!
Bought my 430 in Oct '13 with 6100 miles. I just hit that 10k mark yesterday. I enjoyed every bit of that 3900 miles I drove and will continue to do so. One last rally this coming Sunday that will add probably another 150 miles. Love it!!!
Sure was! I even got it on video but when it compressed it cuts the monumental moment off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It was intermittent at first but now steady. The download points to left front shock. The tech and shop owner said it's safe to drive but avoid tracking it. I'll be getting it troubleshot and fixed soon. It drives fine. The warning is more of a nuisance right now.
Sunir: The US Ferrari world just doesn't border on milage neurosis, it is stupid. Earlier this year I put together a week long Challenge Stradale Reunion Tour, for the 10th Anniversary of the car. There was allot of excitement until push came to shove.... the biggest complaint for lack of participation.............. too many miles on the car, and most didn't want to put their car on a race track. Go figure.
"The only miles i m worried about are my own Life is short guys !" Excellent! Totally agree!! Drive it...That's what it's for.
Every time you mention this I get sad. Wish I could have brought my Modena, your plans were so well done...bucket list material they were that good!
Wow Dino...this is what I mean, your event sounds like a GREAT reason to own, love, and drive a CS. if folks don't want to drive a car for this when why drive it at all. Why even own the car, get a $200K painting and hang it on the wall because that's pretty much what they are doing anyways. I think a lot of it is Ferrari owners doing it to other Ferrari owners - we, the Ferrari owners and enthusiast community, are making this vicious cycle amongst our own. If buyers would be okay with a bit higher mileage cars with good service history and records then owners would be more open to driving more, and enjoying the cars. Since buyers scrutinize miles owners shy away from driving the cars. It's a viscous cycle and needs to be stopped - so the cars and the tradition of Maranello both don't suffer as a result, these cars love to be driven and are actually BETTER with good clean annual miles on them it's better for the seals and so many other aspects of the car, it's a damn shame when a car can be 10+ years old and only have 2 - 3K miles.
