Ok Gang, Long time Porsche guy just bought my first F-Car. I love it!! I was originally looking for a Red/Tan car when this one came up. I must say, I've driven the F1 cars before but had my heart set on a gated 6 speed. This car was in North Carolina and I was a little worried i may not like the manual. Before we got there, I had the car shipped to FCI in Greensborough for a PPI. The car passed with flying colors, it even had the headers replaced about 2 years ago. Since my brother lives outside of Charlotte, we made it an excuse to visit him and his family. My wife and I (BTW, she is so into this car she now has her own screen name on this forum, fcargirl) flew from L.A. to Charlotte to check it out. The dealership met us at the airport and took us to see the car. It was everything they described and more! We took it for a drive and KNEW that was it. It is such a blast with the manual trans. We finalized the deal and drove to his place for a few days. While we were out there, I sold my other toy to a friend of mine. The car is a 1978 930, 32k miles sunroof delete (in the photo with my 2014 Turbo S DD). I regret selling that car, but the 430 is way more fun to drive. I love this car. It was loaded with full leather, shields, bluetooth, the grey deviated stitching on the black looks great. The mods on the car are Tubi exhaust, black powder coated wheels, yellow calipers to match the shields and caps, (originally had aluminum calipers). I will probably change out the black wheels to factory silver, (if anyone is selling a perfect set, PM me). The car has had 5 previous owners according to car fax, but that doesn't concern me as long as the PPI checked out. Previous owner to me bought the car and only put about 800 miles on it in his 2 years of owning it. Looking forward to being on this forum... enjoy the pix. Way to go. Several 3 pedal cars over the past few weeks. IMO car will look better with the silver wheels.
Thanks everybody. Yes, I think the black wheels on black car loses definition. My kids really like them so I may keep them to trade off. I'd like to find a perfect set that has not been refinished. Tom
Excellent choice on that car! I'm saying that because I just purchased the same car last month, except it is anF1. Attaching a pic so you can see the ball polished Challenge wheels on a black car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats on the stick 430 - nice! Yeah, the 328 really lacks headroom, and drives like a "vintage" car - still a fun car, but the 360/430 are light years ahead in many aspects. Not knocking the 328 - have one myself... Though, the 328 is likely a far better investment, and if people keeping drinking the koolaid it will probably pass the 430 in value soon...
Congrats - welcome to the F430 Family - more fun to drive the 3-pedals than F1; way better than the 930 in terms of driving experience and the exotic feeling .... enjoy it in good health
Couldn't agree more. I've had more fun in the past 2 weeks in the 430 than I did in the 5 years of owning the 930.
That's funny because I was actually thinking about painting my rims black!!! We are the reverse! Nice car btw. Same color choice Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congratulations!! I was a Porsche guy myself before I got the Ferrari bug. After I got my first 430, I never looked back.
