Anyone know how many 430's were made with stick-shifts? I haven't seen too many of them around. Is the 430 the last mid-engine V8 that came with a stick-shift as an option? I saw one today that might be coming up for sale soon. Beautiful red/tan 430 manual trans with very low miles. Looks brand new, inside and out. If I didn't already have my two cars, I'd be interested in getting this one, for sure. If anyone is interested in the car, let me know (I have no stake in the deal). Seems like the Ferraris with manual transmissions are going up in value these days. . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Apparently not enough. When I was looking for a 360 6 sp and kept coming up with cars that were is need of more than normal service, I switched to looking for a 430 6sp. FCI was helping me at the time and laughed. Said I was looking for a unicorn. I could be off, but I thought it was around 10% of the total cars were made 6sp.
I don't know exact numbers, but talking to dealers, most 6-speed 430s are Spiders and a majority are Rosso Corsa or Giallo Modena. If you find a silver, white, black, blue, etc. F430 Berlinetta 6-speed, you found a rare car!
A TON out there. Just look under cars.com or ebay for "manual transmission". Sooo many out there! lol
I bought a three-pedal 2006 F430 Spider in October, 2011, in Tour de France Blue with Cuoio Naturale and Blu Scuro interior, and Challenge wheels. I don't think that I'd ever let it go, because I can't think of a particular automobile that would be a proper substitute. Fred
Very true. I have a 6 speed stick shift spider in black with tan interior. The car has 8K miles for a 2006. Its brand new like too. But I am planning to put some more miles this year. I believe that they are around the commonly agreed figure of 10%. The problem is most owners who have these, are not selling as this will be the last of the stick shifts from Ferrari hence this is the only high volume production modern Ferrai that has suddenly become an investment grade car. It was certainly readily available, even though the Factory was pushing the F1 system. So, you see them in the market far more than say, a 599GTB with manual. There was a yellow spider in our ads last week, with CMC. Someone will have the actual production numbers... Good luck in your search.
Actually, they weren't readily available and I know one local guy personally who was never able to get an allocation so he threw in the towel and took a paddlecar. Dave
I started looking last summer and got lucky and found an 09 Spider manual with only 250 miles on the odo. Car was brand new. Some of you may know the car as all the original owner did was take it to shows. He had to fight Ferrari to get the car built so I wouldn't say the manuals were readily available. The car wasn't delivered until August 09. Anyway I just had the one year service done and the car had no problems. It has around 800 miles now and I plan on driving it more this summer. Can't go wrong with a manual.
Ken that might be one of the last manual 430s. 09 sticks are pretty rare. I have an 09 coupe stick and it was a fight to get produced as well.

Thanks for the options and detailed breakdown. It seems this car, even though an 07 didn't get the 60th anniversary badge near the passenger airbag. Guessing its a very early 07. I had a March build (2007) and it had the badge. Not like its a big deal, just pointing that out. You sure it has the Driving Zone Carbon? I thought that consisted of the wheel surround, dash background, and paddles (although in this cars case no paddles) Either way it has the CF around the vents and main console. Toggie said in the OP it has low miles..know the exact number by chance? This car will not last long even at a higher than normal asking price imo
I'm not 100% on the options, just passing along what I was told. I forgot to mention that the headers were just replaced by Ferrari of Washington under warranty. The car has about 17k miles I believe. It is in what I consider to be absolutely perfect condition.
Thanks again..I was pretty familiar with all the 430 options, just checking. The car does indeed look perfect.
Just FYI for those that are interested in this car. Luke (355dreamer) knows this car and owner well, where as, I only spotted the 430 Manual car at the shop where my 550 is being worked on. I can attest that the car is beautiful looking in person. Thanks Luke for supplying the specifications on it. .
Thanks Ron. I appreciate you starting the thread. The owner is pretty private, but the car is for sale for $165k. If anyone is interested, please contact me and I will be happy to forward your info to the owner.
