Yes/No [Current Temperature] [Road Condition] [Location] [Any other comments] No 10F Salt and Sand Toronto, Canada Roads are still in bad shape and littered with sand and salt. I bought a compressor to fill up my tires hoping the weather would improve. I am concerned about paint quality and corrosion hence why its still parked.
Had my 360 out yesterday. 40F, roads clear in Westchester county, NY. Just took it easy and stared really hard at the ground watching out for potholes and gravel.
Yes!! It was beautiful weather here last week, all the snow had been melted for days and the road grime washed away. Took her our for several drives and enjoyed them greatly. I did look out for potholes more carefully than usual. I don't drive in snow but definitely drive in cold with the top down, windows up and a winter hat on.
yes, always cars are meant to be driven and life's too short to leave my Ferrari in a garage Image Unavailable, Please Login
It will need decades for salt to corrode your car, and I am sure you will have already washed and rinsed your car before cloride will start to oxidize your aluminum Ferrari...
Yes.... and thoroughly enjoyed driving around! Luckily for Vancouverites, BC has had a warm and dry winter, unlike many of our eastern Canadian friends......! Cheers, FN!
And it will take months for the rain to actually clear the salt from the roads.. I think my issues require professionals.
Surprisingly salt corrosion is quite a problem for many cars with aluminium parts in suspension and engine bay (Ferrari included) - the body work is painted and is protected. Quite a few threads (one notable thread on another forum where the engine bay of a 2 year old 430 spider had severe salt corrosion) talk about the issue. I would link the thread but it will get deleted on this forum.
Living north of the border in Calgary, Alberta has it's challenges for rear wheel drive cars. Had my Lamborghini out new years day and once again in January seeing as it's a 4x4 but have been able to drive the 360 these past four weeks
Yes - 70 degrees on the day I drove the car (top down) - clean / dry road - Southwest Ohio This was the first startup after >4 months of hibernation. Engine started on the first crank - she grumbled for about the first 10 seconds, then I let her sit idling for about 10 minutes. I power cycled her once, and then hit the road. TONS OF FUN I MISSED MY CAR SO MUCH!!!!
I have been driving my '03 360 that I just purchased in the late fall. Just driving where I know there are no potholes. Problem for me is...I want to (and I do) drive it everyday!! That just means more $$ in maintenance, depreciation etc. But I DO NOT want a garage queen. So yes...I have been driving mine!
had it out sunday for the first time in about 2 months--sunny, 40's good roads-- nice cruise to annapolis c-n-c. car felt great and put a big smile on my face....again....
All the time, including today! Of course, living in SoCal with great weather and canyon roads makes it an easy choice! Jim
Since it doesn't rain here any more, once or twice a week all winter. Except for that one time it rained. This photo is typical of NorCal Sierra Nevada foothills starting in December this year (it actually rained in Dec). Unkie Image Unavailable, Please Login
