So, I picked up my F360 today. It is a red Spider, 2003 model, with 20500 km on the clock. Had to drive it through the city (Zurich, Switzerland) during rush hour. Car is not easy to drive in stop, go traffic. Found it best to use second gear - but I am still getting the hang of the F1 (am used to manual). Parked in front of my house, put her in first gear, hand break on, and killed the motor. When I came back a few minutes later, then it was stuck in first gear and would not start. I fiddled around, not sure what was going on, and on the 10th attempt she finally went to neutral and started up. I think I did not press down hard enough on the breaks. Anywho.. tomorrow is a sunny day, so I am off to the autobahn and see what this baby can do Here is a snap I took today: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Congrats! Contrary to what it states in the Owner's Manual, I always park my 360 Spider F1 in neutral with the handbrake engaged. The F1 system takes some time to get used to. Fortunately for you, the best way to do that is drive drive drive! Enjoy in good health.
One stupid question, probably the stupidest question ever asked on this forum: How do I lock the doors? I think it must be the alarm thingy, right? I assume it also works to unlock the doors? I forgot to ask the dealer. Not much point locking a cabriolet anyway.
Not stupid. I actually don't worry about it. I think you have to depress or raise the lock switch / button that's combined with the interior door handle lever.
Yours is a beautiful car. Don't worry, you'll get used to the F1 system and driving through a city won't be a problem. If you come to a stop light and don't have your foot on the brake, the car will go into neutral... this is normal behavior, don't worry. A lot of people pull back on both paddles at once to drop the car into Neutral while at a stop. Remember, you'll need to pull the right paddle to engage 1st gear or else you'll sit there with a rev'ing engine If you put your car in SPORT mode and shift above 6500 RPMs (I think... it's been a while since I had my 360) you'll notice the car will shift much faster than when you're at lower RPMs. It's pretty awesome. Good luck with your car. I've always thought the 360 was one of the more beautiful Ferraris.
Congrats man, that's a very nice low mileage car. You live in one of the best driving countries I know of, so you're very lucky. Well, almost as good a roads as we have in NZ Enjoy every mile brother
Thanks all. I have had the car for almost a week now, and drove it last on Saturday. Weather forecast for this Easter weekend is rain, snow, possible storms, but that will not stop me. I am going driving on good Friday
