Finally, after many years as a 911 owner, I made the jump early this year (Porsche prices have jumped through the roof!) and purchased a pristine Red/Tan F1 F430 coupe that was previously owned by 2 different F-Chatters...

A couple months later, a 3-Pedal Yellow/Black 360 coupe presents itself and it some how ends up in my garage as well. Both cars are fantastic in their own ways but the one thing I really miss about the 911's is the social acceptability vs. the Ferrari's.

Thanks to Roberto@Roselli for taking care of the routine maintenance on both cars!

Sammy, beautiful cars. Congratulations. As I am making the same transition from 25 years of driving 911s to a rossa corsa F430, can you clarify your point on social acceptability?

I made the same jump from a 911 Turbo to a 430 and know exactly what you mean. The 911 for the most part flies under the radar. Not so much with a red Ferrari.

    Congrats on both!

It's basically what Perkins is saying... I had a Turbo and a GT3 (also yellow and red) and I could take my kids to school, take it to work, take it to church, Walmart and people would smile and just keep walking. The F-Cars seem to "freak" most people out...

And I'm always paranoid about covering up the leather dash if I park outside for fear of shrinkage! :)

Thats why the Ferraris are labeled "exotics". Porsche just does'nt have that freak out factor :)

Just recently traded in my '95 F355 for a '05 F430 in Scuderia red. I loved the 355 and it was perfect. But the 430 is even better.

Absolutely beautiful cars!! That yellow 360, oh my God, I don't normally like them but that example is simply gorgeous!!!

Of course, the F430 is beautiful as per usual!

Couple of questions for 360 owners:

Front hood release switch doesn't work without ignition key?

If "STOP" button is pressed on HVAC and I turn temp up - no heat? I thought the stop was only for AC compressor?

I can start car in neutral without depressing clutch?

When pulling engine bonnet latch, the bonnet doesn't POP like the 430 but it is released - normal or spring worn somewhere?

Congratulations on your stable. One thig for sure. Once you switch to ferraris, it's hard to go back to anything else and especially back to Porsches. I used to be a Porsche guy myself. Once I drove a Ferrari, I never looked back. Enjoy.

+100 ; I switched to Fcars and can't never go back ; Fcar's ownership and driving experiences can never been replaced (for me) regardless I still own 2 pcars.

Cograts; enjoy your Fcar in good health and drive it like a pcar ...

I dunno. My 991 turbo has 458 performance (actually better in a straight line) and usable to drive daily (not that a 458 can't be a DD, but it's more money and gets way more attention). But my 3 pedal 360 is much more involving to drive and has that wow factor.

I'm going to stick with my solution: F430 for the superb experience but too costly/expensive for me to thrash on track and too high profile for some situations; and I kept my 996tt for the low profile when needed, and because so far it's proven to be bulletproof as an economical track toy. NO ONE moves over in front of me in the left lane when driving the 996.....looks like another Toyota or whatever to them in the rear view mirrors - almost invisible; in contrast, virtually all notice and step aside when appropriate for the 430 even though it's a relatively low profile Silverstone and even though I'm dainty in traffic so as not to offend. Different cars, yet both are good fun.
