Autotrader[FER[F430[]][]]&listingId=398343926&Log=0 very low mileage is obviously a factor, but are these stick 430's really commanding a significant premium?
Ad still works on mobile: http://atcm.co/S2PVDP/17BE3EF6 Says its active. Anyways it's a F430 spider 6-speed with 1,500 miles asking $275K.
That really shows that 6-speed are already collectable... the F430 is the last mid-engine Ferrari with a stick, ever.
ridiculous price... trying to jump on the Ferrari bubble.. the bubble will pop on all the Ferraris!! 275k for that car is stupid. As was the last stick shift 599gtb.. i think 600k or something... the same happened in the late 80's early 90's when i was a kid.. 308gts were 110k..
At least three 3 pedal 430s on cars.com for a lot less. I dont think the low miles justify the price increase. They are just fishing for a sucker
Lets not jump to conclusions and say the following: A. F430s are collectible (Coming from a 355 guy ) B. That there is a Ferrari bubble with 6 speed cars. One car sold, speculators have jumped on cars at "todays" retail pricing in anticipation of a rise in value. The cars haven't traded hands. So, in otherwords, asking prices are asking prices not trading prices. C. Speculators are speculators. They only own it for the monetary gain... and if thats all they have in it, thats all that they have to lose. Lots of speculation going on. Guys guying up 512s guys buying up air cooled Porsches, trying to release in limited quantitiy. I mean come on a 993 turbo is 200k? Ridiculous. I can see maybe a turbo S, but a standard turbo? come on... who is buying this stuff? Only people jumping in on the buzz.
On cars.com when you select "manual F430" there are around 55 cars but if you look carefully only 5 "real" manual, other ones are F1. And those stick F430 command a premium over the F1, for the same mileage. I admit $275k is a lot, but so, what would we say about the price of the stick 599 at RM Auctions... Anyway, no doubt the value of stick F430 will keep on increasing.
Bubble!! Don't fall for it.... There is a premium for them.. 10k.. Even if there wasn't a bubble to pop in 10 years the next generation will be 30 something's and I will be 40 something .. Most of the people my age can't even drive Stick!! So who is going to buy them then??
Been saying the same thing but the wild card is a lack of new manual transmission cars. If ferrari makes one again (everyone keeps saying never again but my motto is never say never) is rices will absolutely collapse on the older cars (im thinking a 50-70% correction). The prices im seeing now are absurd. A 599 for 600k? Beyond stupid.
I actually agree that it's a bubble. BUT the Porsche manual transmission cars that are deemed "special" have been silly for a lot longer than I exoected.
I saw the car, very nice but when I asked why $275k he said its gonna be a collector. I don't agree but I think people can ask what they want to ask but at this price I don't think they will even come close.
The 6-speed manual F430 already is a collector. In Europe, they command a premium for the 3 manual ones currently for sale in whole Europe. There is a 2007 coupe of 9000 miles at the same price level than a Scuderia... The asked price isn't really ridiculous at least compared to $400k Dino 246 GTS... Just My 2 Cents.
And this one, Yellow Coupe 2008 Rare IMO 2008 Ferrari F430 6 Speed Manual Washington DC VA | Silver Spring MD Arlington Rockville MD Virginia ZFFEW58A880159179
Seems like the 6-speeds are all rising in value and separating away from their F1 siblings. Especially the well optioned cars - since those are likely to be very difficult to find. Glad I have my gated cars... Robb
It seems 6-speed manual 430s, especially late model red/tan coupes, are going for over double what a comparable F1 is going for. People here are dreaming they can get a manual for the same price as a F1 unless the owner doesn't realize how much more their car is worth. It might take some time to sell as collectors will be the only ones willing to pay these prices now since they see the worth of these cars, hence that '07 599GTB going for $682K at auction. People who actually going tp put miles on their car won't want to pay that much more for a 3-pedal car over a F1 car. If I put my car up for sale I'll be asking for a lot more than $275K knowing how rare it is to find a manual coupe. It might take a long while to sell but that's okay with me as I would be in no rush to sell since I won't mind keeping it knowing it will continue to appreciate in value.
