Just to let you all know, each month I'm gathering data for all 360s for sale in USA to track prices, so we have some hard evidence as to what prices are doing. This is already being done in the UK here Buying and Selling | Aldous Voice where prices have risen 25% in the last year. So I'm capturing advertised USA prices (sorry, I have no way of knowing what they actually sell for).

Make a bookmark for this link, and feel free to post comments on what you think prices are doing.

The link for my USA index is:

    360 USA prices - June 2015

See this thread for Canadian Prices
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430/490583-360-monthly-market-canadian-price-index.html

Check back next month to see how prices have changed!

Please leave comments and suggestions on the data, hopefully this is useful to all 360 owners, present and future.

Data is from car selling website, probably shouldn't say which one(s) because I don't want them to stop me gathering it, but you know the ones I'm sure. Custom software gathers the data. 95% of cars list their transmission, a few don't but I guess you could tell by looking at the photos if they publish them. Hope that helps.

I'd venture that more than 50% of the ads which list the transmission as "manual" are wrong. So that's going to skew the data on 3 pedal cars unless you're manually (no pun intended) validating the data.

I did not click any links but it is a real pain to find 3 pedal 360 cars. There are may be 10 active ads in the US right now for Modenas (from the big 5 car sales web-sites). I want to say that half of those are cars with "questionable provenance" that have been for sale for more than a year. I am not sure what you are showing in the data but each claimed manual transmission car ad must be verified with a photograph to show it is an actual boy car! LOL

In the case of cars.com. If you filter for "Modena" and "Manual" 1/4 of the cars that they are return are actually Spiders if you look at the pictures!

I checked the first 40 ads and only 1 claimed to be manual but was an F1 when I looked at the photos. So maybe 3 or 4 are wrong. I am amazed that people don't put in the effort to get the basics right when advertising their car, they waste so many people's time.

I think you underestimate the # of misrepresented cars.

I feel the sellers have 2 reasons for misrepresenting transmissions

1- many sites insist you pick 1 of 2 choices for transmission field (manual, or automatic). An F1 is technically a manual, and I could almost understand not wanting to list an F1 car as automatic. It would pain me to choose automatic, as an insult to the F1. I don't think most of the sellers are being dishonest or careless. But just trying to differentiate the F1 manual from many people's vision of an automatic ie a slushy GM turbohydromatic

2- dishonest, just trying to use point #1 to have more eyes see the ad in the hope a potential buyer would switch from 3pdl to F1 after seeing the ad. This would assume the sellers feel the majority of buyers are flexible on tranny choice with a preference for 3P. So the ad would be a bait and switch. Not sure about this one, and it's a bit 3P-centric.

Will you be including Challenge Stradale's? I see a lot of very high prices but not sure what they are truly selling for.

No plans to publish Stradale prices, but if enough people ask then I will. I believe prices are rising for Stradales.

    Sold this past weekend.

    * Warning *
I have a dealer's license. Some folks get really upset here when I post while offering a car so I now only comment when it is sold.

Most of my posts have been in the Lambo and 365 GT4 2+2 categories recently. But I wanted to share with you ladies and gentlemen a bit of good news with regard to the 360 market.

I sold a 2003 F1 Spider in 2012 at Monterey California. It was offered at the Mecum Auction and sold to a gentleman in Toronto.

    https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/CA0812-137567/0/2003-Ferrari-360-Spider-F1/

The buyer contacted me a few months ago indicating that he was finished enjoying the car and desired to sell it. We both agreed that it would be in our best interest to offer the car at another Mecum Auction and chose the Dallas venue this past weekend. You'll obviously notice the pictures are the same since he only drove the car 600 miles over the past 3 years.

    https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/DA0915-225402/0/2003-Ferrari-360-Spider-F1/

    Sold in 2012: $105k hammer price. ( $113,400 including buyer's premium.)
    Sold in 2015: $120k hammer price. ( $129,600 including buyer's premium.)

    A few caveats now:

The two last bidders both traveled there specifically to buy that car. One was local (who won the auction) the other was a gentleman from Florida who had sold his Dino last year. They both were knowledgeable about the brand and model. And to be very fair, the car was simply as good as I have ever seen for a 12 year old Ferrari. We fully serviced the car including the updates recommended. While there were other cars at the venue (most of which did not sell) they were not presented as fully serviced and detailed.

Just thought I would share this with you. It is of course an anomaly at this high of a price but certainly shows the passion for the right 360 when they are cared for. The actual sale might make the Mecum TV show this coming Thursday. NBC Sports, lot 105.1.

    Cheers,

    Scott
