    Hi there,
Recently changed my stock manifolds for AP racing, now getting a static db reading of 103/107 db at 5k revs?
    Cheers!

3 suggestions (already posted elsewhere in response):
    1. Check everything is working correctly, valves not stuck open (not applicable for the noise test but I think you said it was loud all the time?) and and muffler not damaged. Your car sounds unusually loud from your description.
    2. Track day muffler - expensive option, will meet noise limits although always quiet.
    3. Valve controller that for noise tests will keep the valves shut - cheapest option and allows noise when wanted. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143758150-post9.html

I installed the AP manifolds as well. With the valves open in a tunnel, my ears hurt. It seems louder than a jet engine at full throttle.

    1. Check
    2. Only an option for Scud/Challenge
    3. An option but not the answer really
Thank Russell, need all the advise I can get, think it's going to be a change of back box (or mufler) and adding in a precat possibly????

Do you still have stock catalysts and muffler?

Yep, did the same last week through the Manchester airport tunnels, my son was uncontrollably laughing as a passenger, simply could not believe the noise, to say it's obscene is understating the fact by a factor of 10 !!!!!

Uncontrollable laughter from the passenger is never a good sign. :)

I appreciate you guys commenting on the negatives of the aftermarket headers as well. It seems like everyone's quick to tell the noobies to change headers but I wonder how many actually have themselves?

I've been going back and forth on this as well. I'd like to have the higher pitch but don't want to be called into the cops everytime I drive the car. Been there, done that with the Gallardo.

Does AP headers have the same design as Fabspeed?

I thought I read on here a while back that AP and Fabspeed are both made in china at the same place...

I understand that they are literally the same header. Made by the same manufacture in Asia. There have been a few big threads on this in the past.

I'm a young guy and I love loud exhausts. I have the stock muffler. Dare I say it might be too loud at full throttle?

There are literally no other downsides. I've thrown one CEL so far but I just reset it with my handheld scanner and it has not come back.

The sound at idle is amazing. It absolutely screams at redline. And it eliminate the possibility of the infamous cat/header problem destroying your motor. It actually happens to guys, so I decided it was cheap insurance.

+1 ....... If you have aftermarket ....... on eshould know that making a 'high flow' performance exhaust quite requires tuning ..... one cannot simply grab silnecers off the shelf and expect good sound attenuation ... unfortunately that is what many builders do ...
There has to be some wave cancelation built into the design .... check out the 355 exhaust in my signature for an example of a quiet exhaust while cruising and screaming F1 at WOT ...... this 'Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde' is exactly what the owner specified ...... ;)

I have AP headers and a Tubi exhaust. Ridiculously loud!

I ruled this mod by Capristo out but from all I have read since I think it could be the answer, such a shame the youtube clip doesn't have a drive by version so we can gauge the sound level difference on the road

Capristo valve control won't help your problem of being too loud as it is designed to open the valves when you want BUT it always allows the car to open the valves when it wants. Bisel's valve controller has the additional option to keep valves closed. (I have the Capristo on my car and have only read details of Bisel's controller)
