With all the chatter and scarcity of the f430 3-pedal, etc., etc...., just thought I'd throw this out there for conversation.
Would you rather have an 360 3-pedal or f430 F1?

I went though this very same thought exercise when I bought my 430. I originally set out to buy a 6 speed 360, but after surveying the market, I realized that 430 F1 prices weren't all that much higher than cherry 360 manuals. The extra power, more modern styling and maintenance all swayed me to the 430. I have since really come to enjoy the F1, just as many other 430 drivers have said.

I didn't even consider getting manuals. I chose F1 all the way. Faster and better all the way. I'm the one who prefer technology than living in the past. Manual had it days. Still a very robust transmission. However it is clear the advantage is in F1. And I race cars professionally.

Had the option when I was shopping for my car.. I'd still pick my 3-pedal today.

F1 for the track, 3-Pedal for the streets.

I'd love to drive a 430 F1 but to "own and keep" I will stick with my 360 manual...

Exception: I might be persuaded to own a Scud or 16M someday. :^)

    I had a 3 pedal 360 and a 08 F1 430,
    If I was buying a 360 today it would still be a 3 pedal car, having said that I choose a f1 430 over a 3 pedal 360 or a 430

It was never a choice for me. I always wanted a gated Ferrari as a link to the past. Clink...vroom, clink... vroom, clink... vroom!

This has been my first time experience with my F1 on my 430 spider, I bought it in Nov last year, and it is starting to grow on me more and more every day. I too was a must be manual kind of guy, all my other cars are manual and love them that way, I wasn't sure I would like the F1, but this car was the right color combo for me.

My opinion has shifted to my surprise from this last week alone, as I just returned from a 2200km drive through the Rockies and hit some amazing back country twisting roads.

When car is in Track mode and you are on full pace all your concentration is on what is 10 meters in front of you, tight switch backs, 260 degree corners, flying over a small hill not knowing which way it sways left or right, all the while pushing yourself and pushing the car harder and harder. I fell in love with the F1 I will admit, I could easily pull away from my other comrades just simply because down shifting & up shifting was done in milliseconds, and all my concentration was on driving with little to no braking involved.

F1 is the choice if you are a driver, if you are a cruiser then gated is always great.

But imo the 355 was the last car you want manual, 360 and definitely the 430 demands the F1.

A buddy has an extra-cherry red/tan/F1 430 with 10k miles on it. Scud wheels in the 430 fitment. Capristo exhaust. I've driven it a couple times and can honestly say I prefer driving my 360 3 pedal. This came as quite a relief to my wallet.

    Them is fightin words :)

**Actually, lets NOT get into the "General 3-pedal vs paddles" debate. That has been done in multiple threads. Please don't derail the thread, and let's stay on the specifics of 360 3-pedal vs F430 F1 preference. It's interesting and could prove helpful to those on the fence of a purchase.

    I would rather push my 430 F1 than drive a 360 MT..............

I remember first shopping for a 360 and drove both the F1 and 3 pedal. Hands down the 3 pedal was my choice. I didn't like the F1 in the 360 at least in the limited test drive I took. I'm sure given some time it might have grown on me, but as soon as I drove the 3 pedal my decision was made.

I could have bought an F1 F430 for what I paid for my 6MT 360 spider. For me it was the right decision.

I loved my 3 pedal 355 and thought I would never buy another ferrari without it. Having owned my 360 F1 for a couple of months now, I can definitely say that I absolutely love the F1 and would not get another ferrari without it! Especially with the Challenge Straddle TCU I just had installed it is absolutely incredible to drive!

Just went through this exact scenario and ended up with the 430 due to several reasons; 1. Newer model
    2. Lower annual average maintenance costs
    3. carbon brakes
    4. updated interior

Still love the 360 though and I missed a beautiful rosso / tan Modena with the optional racing seats

    Id take a 3 pedal 308 over an f1 430 lol. A 360 manual to me a no brainer.

Manuals are fun, track or street. Valuations show most enthusiasts agree with this view. I find f1 cars boring regardless of car.

    I set out for a 430 manual. After driving a 430 F1 I bought the best 360 manual I could find.

360 gated is the way I saw it. This decision wasn't made by future market valuation but simple aesthetics. The 360 is organically designed and beautifully proportioned. My impressions of the 430 is that they went just a bit overboard.
