The Scuderia takes on Nissan's titan of supercars and...not sure why my previous thread was deleted, but figured it would probably be nice to have all the races in a single thread!

    Enjoy!!!

The 458 race surprised me. Interesting that the Scud gets a jump at the start and then the 458 claws it back.

That extra 7th gear definitely helps!

Maybe mods saw it as (public) road racing which shouldn't be promoted. Though, it appears to perhaps be on "closed" road (in Sweden)...?

Yes these videos are from a closed road and are legally sanctioned events. The Scuderia never fails to surprise me at how fast it is even against contemporary competition

From a dig, the Scuderia will always lose, even if you end up being ahead at the end of the race :)

dumping the single clutch to launch is xxxpensive!

Great idea for a thread! I like watching, and re-watching, these videos. Now I have one place where I can find them all.

Wonder what rpm level is best to start at in these roll-out races. Would it be the torque peak? If so, what's that, around 5000 rpm?

How about some V8 vs bigger brother V12 action? That V12 is a monster!

WOW I am surprised it was that close considering the GTO has 150 more horsepower. The Scuderia certainly punches well above its weight huh?

Let's not forget the Twin Turbo BMW M6 that was dusted :).

Someone get that Scud some lighter wheels and a lighter exhaust system and he'll surely be taking no prisoners.

Surprised at how much quicker the Scud is vs. the 430 Spyder; and how the Scud got WALKED by that GTO!!! Wow! I need a V12 too now! ;)

Sounds like the 458 short shifted for the first two gears. He didn't gain until he let the car wind up to the redline.

Wonder if we could track down the owner of the black scud. Maybe he would take some drag race requests from us. :p

Wow, that was embarrassing. I didn't realize there was such a large delta in straight-line performance between 430 and the Scuderia.

There is a big delta on the Fiorano track as well. I posted this in the 458/488 section...

360 > CS we saw quite a step forward. Base 360 did it in 1'31.5 while the CS took a whole 2.5s out of that time at 1'29 (1'28 on slicks)

F430 > 430 Scuderia we also see quite a step forward. F430 did it in 1'28.5 while the 430 Scuderia took a whole 3.5s out of that time at 1'25 dead.

458 Italia > 458 Specialé we see a marginal step forward (in comparison to its predecessors). Italia did it in 1'25 dead while the Specialé clocked in at 1'23.5 shaving only 1.5s.

What all this also tells me is that the Ferrari NA V8 was in a world of diminishing performance returns, so in order to get to the next level of performance, Ferrari had to go turbo, hence the 488.
