Went for a cruise with a friend who has the S-Line exhaust and all I can say is WOW! Awesome Sound! IMG_1947_zpsvac4csux.mp4 Video by martiy1971 | Photobucket
It's the sound i have been looking for - the higher pitched wail. And you're right it is very subjective.
Rick, I agree on subjective yet still surprised to hear you say it. Bob, I agree that is the Holy Grail of Ferrari sound. As close to Formula 1 as possible and the best I've heard from a 430. I do believe that car has aftermarket headers and sport cats. I'm guessing that car is very loud in person, correct? Kind of bummed a bit because that tells me the AP titanium doesn't deliver the high pitch sound. I suspect that can only be done with the X-pipe style and at very high volume.
The S Line exhaust is the real deal. I'll be adding another one to another of my cars in the next week or so.
The car in question has fabspeed headers, straight pipes and the S-Line and it sounds glorious to me. And yes it is loud but in a good way lol. I emailed S-Line while we were driving today saying that "I had to have one ASAP" lol. It is the sound I have been looking for, loud or not!
If you want one, you have to email me. The old email doesn't work. Also, there will be one for the 360 available after they do my car next week.
Haha. Yes, usually people on Fchat just message me and I organize the orders. My office is a stone's through from his shop and he has done a ton of stuff for my Ferraris over the years. So it's easy enough to help out.
Thank you - Tell him I need one ASAP lol, trying to get it on for at least one more drive prior to winter storage.
My RR430 sound from inside another F430, in this video my car had "Stage 3" setup [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adLiUY5jz8s[/ame]
From inside to ~145 mph (stage 2), too much wind noise though: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqxVz6K9LCM[/ame]
I have tried three exhausts in the past two months. The first one was an old school Capristo. That did not do it for me at all. Two were x-pipe designs. Both were somewhat disappointing. The first one had mufflers and was too quiet. The second one had valves and could be either muffled or free flow. The entire valve thing does not work very well. The valves introduce a rattle between 3 and 5k RPM in open and closed positions. The sound in quiet mode was WAY too quiet. The sound in loud mode was OK but lacked the high F1 pitch I wanted. For $5,000 I expect more. Both systems sounded great when the car drove by. But that is not what I'm after. I'm in the car and want to hear the sound myself. After this trial and error I decided to have a system made for me. It is titanium, extremely light, under ten pounds, and not more expensive than any of the other systems. I will receive it on Monday.
