Ferrari is a 1985 model year, not 1980, as stated above, ebay system does not recognize vin number. common occurence with classic ferrari's . Listing this vehicle for a private individual / collector, featured in a National. television program in 2012 about collector cars. This vehicle offered for sale, can been seen in the opening scene of episode. 1985 Ferrari Straman Convertible, 4.8 liter , fuel injected v12, with 15,700 original miles on the clock. Black exterior with black leather interior , and black convertible top. This vehicle started its life as a coupe and was converted by Straman , known in the industry, as being the best, with regards to convertible conversions. This is the same company responsible for most of the daytona conversions out there today . The mileage represented is original, and consistant with all of the paperwork we have on the vehicle, including the original service manuals, all in excellent condition.

This vehicle is ready for its new owner. It has been maintained in an indoor, climate controlled environment, for most of its life. I will be conservative in listing its over-all condition as Excellent. The original paint, and interior show very little wear, very pleasing to even a picky buyer. The convertible top/ back window are as new , and the undercarriage is attractive and rust free, consistant with a collector car, in a pampered environment. The car runs and drives great, with no known mechanical issues, as its always been professionally serviced.

This ferrari is a rare exotic, low miles, and in excellent original condition...A v12 , thats a blast to drive, and a lot of bang, for your buck....not much else out there, to compare this too, plus doesnt have the high service price tag, of its newer, ferrari counterparts. About the listing price , if you do your due diligence, first, you will not even find this model, or example offered for sale in the u.s. market, most are in europe, and with a big european price tag. Check the ANAMERA COLLECTION website, you will see offerings up to 100k...and once again, this is an original, low mileage car.

PLEASE....only bid if you are prepared to complete the purchase transaction of said vehicle. ALL in-person inspections are WELCOME and encouraged , by appointment only . They must be done at vehicle location, where it is stored indoors. Please dont ask us to bring the car somewhere off-site. The car is located in upstate new-york , detailed, and all paperwork in order, and ready to go.

Jay, I think you are correct. If not, it's quite similar to the car shown on Wayne's show. Unfortunately, I can't get comfortable with those wheels. Too much bling on an elegantly-designed/styled car. That's just me, though. To each his own.

Fewer than 200 miles since 2009. Seeing maintenance records will be key to understanding how much recommissioning will be required.

First 400i I have seen with a air pump for the cat' besides mine. (mine "fell off" in the last months...) This one is located in similar location to mine with the PS reservoir moved forward to make room.

I'll have to +1 on that one! Were they even an option back then?? I think the concave wheels took on an aggressive look that the ABS wheels are missing.

Ken, I've seen this before a few times over the course of 5 yrs. or so, that & the cats would be the first thing I'd tear off. These fed. shops took the legalization to the limit.
I meant to post about this on the car below recently but time got away from me...B.

1984 400i Chassis 50233 5 Speed On Ebay

I'm thinking that this car had a respray, notice the 400i script on the rear fascia that doesn't contain 'automatic' on it? That & other script may be replaced appliques. Those FI lines look like they were treated right.
Anybody know what that box is on top of the left air filter housing in front of the metering device?
Most 400's I see have both the speedo & tach pegs @ the 10mph/500rpm marks, & so was mine until I took it to 140 mph. When I parked it, they were...
I think the meter springs need exercising from time to time. ;o)

That didn't take long after being re-listed / BIN!
It's rare to not see the speedo / tach @ 10 mph / 500 rpm, it's rarer yet to see that only the speedo is bottomed out.

85 400i

I purchased it off of eBay. I live in St.Louis Mo. It was the same car that was on Chasing Classic Cars. This is my 2nd 400i, and this one was very well sorted. I had all of the fluids changed and the belts, checked the timing tensioner and added 2 lbs of Freon and it is ready to go. Thanks
