I am the proud new owner of a 69' 365GT 2+2. I have the operations/maintenance manual that shows where the adjustment screws are for the timing chain, but doesn't describe how to tell when the chain is properly adjusted. Are there instructions elsewhere or can someone described the method for checking the chain tension. Thanks.

Try to find out first if the tensioner is a sprocket type or rubber pad. You can easily find my recent post about tensioners on my 400i, with a pad type tensioner over-tightening may be subtle but increase wear rate of pad.

The engine in a 1969 365 GT 2+2 is completely different than the engines in the 400i series and you should post your request in the Vintage section for best results to your questions.
