Good luck Alastair, hope you get what your looking for. Did you see the one that made almost £8k on eBay at the weekend? Makes yours look like a bargain. Lewis.
Can anyone tell me the name and code for this color ? I have a softspot for Grigio on older Ferrari's
Thanks Lewis It will be a unique experience for me, not a bad drive for my last drive Sunny Largs to Royal Ascot will keep the posting to see what happens. indeed saw that on the £8k car it will be a great project look forward to seing how it goes. Regards Alastair
Thanks Alastair. My -78 GT was originally Brown metallic but repainted Nero in the mid 90's. Black is nice but this was nicer....
Has she got a reserve on her? I was really hoping I might be able to snaffle this old girl up but alas it seems time is against me.
Hi Christopher Havent decided the reserve yet keep a look I will keep and update on whats going on for the interest of all here. Estimate is £22000 to £28000 apparently they do that to entice people in! Originally I had the car for sale privately for £38000 I think the car is worth that because of the rarity and condition in general especially on the mechanical side. I reduced the price to £32000 as there was no queue to buy! but the market as we know can only stand so much no matter how good the car is so, is it really worth the original asking of £38000? yes I think so for someone wanting genuinely to enjoy a fantastic car or serious long term investor but no for someone wanting to turn it around for a quick buck. Auctions as ive been advised can be good or bad it might not sell at all lets see, Regards Alastair
All it takes for a successful auction is two bidders eager to be the winning bid! Best of luck in getting a good price for your beautiful car!
good luck Alastair ! you really do deserve top dollar and I'm sure you'll get it...my prediction is that it will comfortably exceed the auctioneers estimate. all the best, brett
Hi Alastair Did you try listing your car on Pistonheads or Bring-a-Trailer? Might still be worth a try if you haven't already - at least there won't be the auction seller's premium to deduct from the proceeds. Aidan
Good man Brett, lets see how we do. Ime doing the right thing even if it doesn't feel right!!!! Regards and keep up the good work. Alastair
Hi Aidan Thanks for that yes a good idea, I suppose really because I am not in the position to wait I am going down the auction route, I did have the car on sale privately but now it has to go so lets see, I have chosen one of the more reputable auction hoses in the UK Coys check out the lot list theres some other interesting cars, Coys of Kensington Regards Alastair
Alastair, For what it is worth in my opinion Coys are one of the worst. I refuse to purchase from auctions, mostly due to their antics. You must read the fine print very carefully and considering the buyer fees to them, and the seller fees, if you want to take home 22K the actual purchase price will be more than where you are currently getting no takers!!!! Hate to rain on your parade and hope you get what you want.
Hi Tassie Thanks yes I remembered and took heed as you mentioned before, agree I think the auction can be either very good or bad. Obviously you are not a fan and I tend to agree with your sentiment here I suppose though auctions can also be a very a good gateway for both buyers and sellers, different folks for different strokes as they say. Unfortunately I am not in the position to have a choice as it has to go. It will cost me the best part of a grand just for the exercise Hotels etc its going to be a good blast down from Scotland just what this car is great at. I might just continue on and drive to Tasmania if it doesn't go and we can add her to your collection! Good stuff will keep it posted Regards Alastair
If only I had the funds at the moment, cracking car 45minutes away from me. Always wanted a manual. Wish 635 values would take off, we could do a swap Image Unavailable, Please Login
Reminds me of the time my starter motor packed in I bump started it in Scotland and drove including refuelling stops and believe it or not lunch while the engine ran, all the way to Sussex 500 odd miles.
Alastair, I wish You good luck with Your sale. It must be hard to let it go... I am a huge fan of the 365 GT4 2+2 and the first 400's. I am currently watching over and keeping 25169 as best as I can and love every fault, headace and joy it gives me I must comment on the color of Your car. It is not often I see one like that. It is stunning in this metallic paint. If possible, could You list the color choises available for our model ? Arvid
Thanks Arvid Yeah its a bit emotional letting it go but ime a lucky bugger for having a shot at Ferrari ownership at all so all good (Ime talking rubbish ide rather keep it) The colour is Canna de fucile 703C This colour is available as a 'classic 70s' colour in Ferrari's current range, Ime sure someone published a list of colours on this forum at some point but I don't have it myself another of my favourites is Grigio ferro 106E8 lighter silver. Regards Alastair
Dear Alastair It s a shame you made a mistake about the VIN Number of your car in the thread s title ! Rgds Paul
