    Good day All,

As referenced in the following thread:
    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/365-gt4-2-2-400-412/443246-bonhams-auction-28-april-2014-1-x-365-2-x-412-a.html

I am just adding documentation, however, according to the auction site, 18101 has been withdrawn from sale.

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Such a shame.
I requested some more information but never got a response, this probably explains why.

My guess is the seller thinks the market is headed upwards this year and that it would be a good idea to hold a bit longer.

Who is "noted collector Jack Henley"? I might need to pay cousin Jack a visit and help to exercise his ponies.

Wow. Original owner "part exchanged" his Daytona for this car. In hindsight, worst decision ever? Hah.

YOU BEAT ME TO IT !!!

Must be a pattern there - the original owner of my 365 p/x'd his 365 GTC/4. He got £7,500 back against the car and paid something like £6,500 balance.

Where's Captain Foresight when you need him - seeing into the future would be SO useful sometimes !!!

Still, look at it another way.

If the 365/400/412 series were selling like the GTC/4 and Daytona how many of us poor sods could afford one ?

See ? There's a silver lining to every cloud.

If the price is right, you should go for it. Then left me know and I'll plan a holiday around the UK...a road trip in your extra 365.

The Ferrari 365GT4 2+2 Is the most under rated and under priced Ferrari on the market right now. Remember 6 to 8 years ago, 250GTEs were being cut up and 330GT2+2s could be had for next to nothing. Then came the 365GT 2+2 "boat" (had on of those and couldn't get rid of it soon enough) now get out $200.000.00 for a 365GT 2+2 driver.
The 365GT4 2+2 is a 365GTC/4 in every way except the styling, nearly everything on these two cars is the same except the body from the back of the front seats forward and including the rear suspension.
I have both cars, a 365GTC/4 #15765 and 365GT4 2+2 #17109 and when driving them you can't tell the diference except you can take another couple with you out to dinner in the 365GT4 2+2.
These cars drive nothing like a 400 because they are lighter in wieght and have different rear axle gearing. These cars weren't all gussied up and sound proofed for your wife.

The 365 at Bonhams sold for £25,000 plus premium (£28,750)

Sounds like it was a decent car with mainly cosmetic needs - I'm not sure if that's a cheap or dear price for the car.

    Opinions ?

Probably a fair price in today's market - and well above the (admittedly low) estimate. I expect we will see good cars fetching £50k + and really excellent ones £75k + in the UK within a short time. Not that there's many left...

Will also be interesting to see how much that LHD 1982 400i auto goes for at RM Auctions today in London. I would also expect it to beat the very prudent estimate. Perhaps it has already gone under the hammer.

I know that prices are on the up but that's a big price for an auto, albeit for one with less than 30,000km on the clock.

    Strange times indeed !

    Good day Russell,

From what I have seen from the various European sites is that this price is on the low side (35.8K Euro). That being said, the European listed cars have been for sale for a long time... several years in fact. Interestingly, about 6 months ago these listed unsold-for-years cars had their asking prices raised ... Since there are few cars actually being sold it is tough to say what the market price is... I just realized I commented like a politician... I said a bunch of stuff and still remained on the fence :) So that I am not considered wishy-washy I say that the price was on the low side.

    Cheers,

    Sam

I thought I saw Howard (Squidmark's) marrone 365 gt4 2+2 on Ebay last night, advertised at £39,995 or offers, but maybe I was dreaming. I can't find it this morning.

You're quite right David - and it's still there!

I don't want to hijack this thread, and although I don't want to lose it now - my reasons are genuine, and I quite possibly won't get another chance to own one :-(

I really wish I could keep it but I'm in the middle of buying the company I work for, so I need the funds.

If you come to Oxford soon I may still have it though!
