Hello back in 1989 keith downs of sevenoakes bought a red with cream leather 412 with a manual gearbox- number plate was f693 nvx I am trying too track this car-has anyone seen it in England-all I can tell you was its second home was a brewery.
According to the DVLA the last road tax on the car expired on 1st August 1992 so it's either been scrapped or taken out of the country.
Chassis #80688 was the only RHD, Red with Crema interior 412 manual produced, currently in Australia. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually F693 NVX is #79138, and it's in New Zealand with the appropriate registration 412 GT. It has a beige, not crema interior, hence the confusion. I have seen some photos of it at a car show quite recently but can't find the link right now.
It has been in New Zealand for the last 20 years. It was for sale through Continental Car Services in Auckland in 2006. Jonathan Edit: Beaten to it by David in the post above
Found the link now, a couple of photos on Flickr, taken 2 March 2013. Still looks very nice. https://www.flickr.com/search/?q=ferrari+1988+412gt
The data I have (from Maranello archives UK) indicates that 79138 was ordered with a blu interior ( strange combination !! ) Perhaps the data is wrong, or someone changed the interior color very early on? Chassis............Ext colour..........Interior Colour........Dash.....................Carpet 79138.............Rosso Corsa......Blu 3218 hide.........Nero 8500 hide.....Beige M
In case it's of any interest, the car had only 24304 (miles?) showing on its odometer on January 20 this year. It is currently licensed and tested. It was first registered in New Zealand on 2 May 1995. As Jonathan pointed out, it looks like it last changed hands in 2006.
Unfortunately not...though prices have increased significantly since 2006. To give you an idea, Rardley Motors have just sold a black RHD manual with 57,500 miles that was advertised at £35,000, and there is another black RHD manual for sale in Ireland for £40,000 with 48,000 miles on the clock. Is it a car you used to know? I am just curious as to why the interest.
Well Keith downs the first owner came around in the car too our house in west malling when I was aged eight-Me and my sister aged six waited 25 minutes upstairs watching for Keith to arrive. As the car came up the hill with the head lamps up -the amazing machine pulled into our road and came to arrest across our driveway. It was when keith pulled down the electric window and the smell of the leather got me hooked. Now at the age of 34 ive owned a mondial q.v 3.2 a Testarossa on number plate D11 red and now I am luck enough to now own this-lovely example 550 purchased from The Ferrari centre.
Hi Here you go. I took this in New Zealand in 2002. Quite literally, I was walking along a street(in Auckland I'd guess) and walked past this car! I did see the car as F693NVX in Chislehurst in Kent in the UK when it was in the UK. I'd been told it left the UK for NZ in 1995 too. Robert W Image Unavailable, Please Login
Check. I suppose the same will be said of me some day. Since a name was dropped I thought perhaps it was somebody of note. Drew a blank @ Google.
keith downs was a friend of my fathers-a paper salesman. He bought the Ferrari over the night it was brand new.
