Attached you will see one of the few remaining 400GT RHD leaving for a new home. Still attached is myself who had to be dragged away from the carrier! But there is good news I am taking delivery of my new bicycle on Friday! Regards All Alastair Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
rustytractior feeding his addiction? NeuroBeaker scratching an itch? Down under? <gasp!!> That must be a niiiiiiiiiiice bicycle!!!
Thanks all Good guesses, Rustytractor indeed is a man with a penchant for 400s, other suggestions are reasonably good. Just for the entertainment value we will keep the new owner under wraps for a wee while longer. Plus I need to send you all a picture of me with my new bike and smilling face! Regards Alastair
I expect it is another addition to Tassie's collection. At least I assume it is going to a serial 400 series owner. I am sure it will be well looked after anyway.
Is it coming to me Alastair ? I really really hope so because I could really really do with another 12 cylinders and 6 more twin webers in my life. Very kind indeed, I'll make sure she's well looked after for you !
I was thinking a new European owner would make the most sense. But then I thought about the right hand drive. So then I thought another British owner. But then I see it's an a truck transport. And anything in Briton, I would take personal delivery of. Certainly not across the pond. I'm still going to guess somewhere in the UK. Did you get rights to visitation? That could be a clue.
Alastair, You know I made a very generous offer on one of the threads which was politely turned down. It was serious by the way. I would assume it would go to the highest bidder at the auction after some negotiation and as I don't buy at auctions that would not be me.
In that case I hope Alastair made a serious inspection of the frame for welds and alternative engine mounts.
Alastair, every morning I run downstairs and look through the front window like a giddy schoolgirl on Christmas Day, waiting for delivery of your generous gift to me. When will it arrive ????????
Well fellas I have to fess up now. I am the idiot that purchased Alastair's car. Commercially the worst Ferrari purchase I have ever made. I have cooled down enough now to be able to write about it without getting vengeful and emotive. All is not what it seems with that car. Even today the car is still at QV in London having mechanical repairs done and then we start on the bodywork. Classic case of delayed maintenance. At least I caught it before it became a complete basket case which is where it was heading. I should have had it checked out first (but then I would not have bought it) but I believed most of what I saw written about the car over years here - how wrong I was. This car will be restored to its original glory, likely with its original paint as its current paint and preparation are worthless. No it will not be for sale because the current prices no where near reflect the cost of getting it to a presentable stage - something we all know about. Anyone wants details I am happy to share photos and details but I don't want to start a war here, nor do I want sympathy. This was all my own gullibility with a fair bit of "sellers prerogative to exaggerate". Lets just say another rare Ferrari rescued. We will have to form a club Mitchell, the 400 Rescue Squad.
