    Consider yourself very lucky if you don't live in a snowbound state. You could be in a cold garage worrying about stuff like this:
    Can anyone explain the gap around my ashtray? Does it look like an oem ashtray? It does have the goofy cigarette only lighter socket.

    No, and if anyone can find a replacement part I would like one too. Its the only thing on my car that doesn't work and it drives me crazy.

    The ashtray is excactly the same as in my -78. The opening in your console sure looks weird and altered though.

    If the mirror switch should not look like that then I also have a problem...

    My car has traces of cost-is-no-object repairs and absolute hackery. Thanks for the replies. I think that I can shim the ashtray around enough to minimize the gap. If I can find another one I'll modify it to fit an ipod and accessory outlet.
