Good day All, Just adding doc... Sadly, no chassis number is given. With an asking price of $179.995 CAN maybe they know something we don't ? ... And with a car dealership name of "Jiffy Car Sales" ... well... need I say more ... Again, my apologies for sounding snooty. Looking at the first pic I see a Euro plate and so I am wondering if the car is on this side of the pond and if so has it been registered, etc.... Interesting... Secondly, for $180K I would expect a nicely restored or tidier engine bay... and certainly no "duct tape" repairs (see upper right corner of pic). Cheers, Sam 1974 Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 for $179,995 in SAULT STE MARIE | autoTRADER.ca 1974 365GT4 2+2 Color: Black Exterior with Tan Interior Mileage: 29000 KM Location: Sault Ste Marie, ON, Canada Chassis: ? Maybe the reason for the high price is that the trunk is full of the hallucinogenic drugs that the selling dealer has been taking!
No he doesn't mean $17,995. His cars are always priced high. Not sure if they are his or consingment. Jiffy car sales is a car wash and towing company with a car sales lot and he always have some exotics advertised.
Yes, the prototype that was Enzo's personal car.. 365GT4 2+2s aren't worth $270K or $170K or even $70K..
He also has an 86 Testarossa, a 92 512TR and a 93 512TR. The 86 he is using IAG in Florida photos. He always uses other peoples pics. Probably mostly consignment. Most of the time his pricing is way out of line. He has the 92 512TR on EBay for $199k buy it now. He is using pics from the Rolls Royce dealer in Montreal when they had the car. They listed it for $122k CDN, it needed a service.
Good day Argento, As with other cars, I think the going price is a matter of condition and location. There are some that would consider $70K a bargain given the time, effort, and resto costs (full or sympathetic). Cheers, Sam
Sold for $299,750 and there was alot of action on it. Also was in a very bad time slot. As I recall the very last car on Sat night. IMO even the 400's are getting decent money these days, and the days of finding one of these cheap are long gone like all the other carb's V-12 manual trans Ferrari's.
I see this is back on market. Does anyone have a reference for Jiffy Car Sales and more details on this 365 GT4 2+2 being offered in Ontario? Seems still very high price? Thanks Robert
I offered $45K canadian funds because it needs to be restored. Im not just being picky saying it needs a restoration because I only want perfect cars, it NEEDS one. An interior pic isnt there for a very good reason.
Good day Robert, I think you mean Paul... Barrie, ON is Paul's locaton... and the answer to your question is within his last post: Cheers, Sam
Hi Sam, My kids reckon I'm stupid. This confirms it! Being in Australia I thought Barrie was his name, not a place on Ontario. I stand corrected. Thank you. So I take it its with around the CAN$45k. Cheers Robert
I know Paul a little bit and my feeling is you can pay a little more than 45k cdn. My feeling is Paul is very similar to me when time to buy and he won't buy a car at full market retail. Waiting patiently for a DEAL. But if he say the car needs restoration, it needs it! Now let's wait for Paul to comment my comment
Good day Robert, You are being too hard on yourself! You simply misread the poster's data and missed his last post. These things happen to everyone! Cheers, Sam
Good day Claude, Indeed, $45K CAN would translate to about $34.5K USD... which seems somewhat low for a 365 with all of its bits given the recent price rise in these and other models. That being said one can spend a lot of $$$ quite quickly on the basics let alone the major components (i.e. engine/head work, paintwork, etcetc) and so it becomes a challenge to assess a car's value with so many variables: a. current condition and immediate needs b. to what level the buyer wishes to restore the car to c. transport costs d. Seller's willingness to strike a deal Given that the car has not yet sold (for some time now) at the current price, one can assume it is priced too high. Given that a 365 recently sold in Denver (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/365-gt4-2-2-400-412/514252-365-denver-ebay.html) for around $95K USD establishes an actual North American price point. Working backwards from this data point, how much $$$ would be needed to bring up the Jiffy car to level of the Denver car? Determining these costs (Interior, possibly paintwork, etc) one could establish an approximate baseline market price for the Jiffy car... Cheers, Sam
