Good day, I thought it would be interesting to periodically post some market (asking) prices of our cars... Quite honestly, I have never seen so many available for sale at one time. The info and pics were taken from mobile.de's site. First the 365 GT4 2+2: 12 Cars for Sale! Prices from 79.5K Euro ($88.5K USD) to 165K Euro ($183.82K USD) Average Price: $107.45K Euro ($119.71K USD) Cheers, Sam Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Good day All, Now the 400 Series: 10 Cars for Sale Prices from 46.9K Euro ($52.25K USD) to 125K Euro ($139.36K USD) Average Price: 50.549K Euro ($78.6K USD) Cheers, Sam Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
when I began my search for a 400 in June 2014 there were 23 cars available in Europe on mobile.de ? Gebrauchtwagen und Neuwagen ? Deutschlands größter Fahrzeugmarkt. prices started from 23K Euros ......
are they coming out because to idea of a better market or was it timed as a sell because every owner happened to sell at the same time. lemmings. and do these asking prices have any link to reality?
Good questions Mitch. Either way I'm glad I got in when I did - the same goes for all of the genuine 365/400/412 owners out there who bought for the right reason which is a love of the car. As prices increase it's nice to know that more of these cars will come out of hiding as the cost of restoration won't put the owner underwater versus the end value. Since I bought the 365 2 years ago it has conservatively doubled in value, maybe tripled and possibly quadrupled if the current asking prices of circa £70-£80k are remotely realistic (which I doubt). Either way it's nice to have a smug feeling and a "See ? I told you so" attitude - not because of what the cars would sell for but because I could never have afforded to buy either one at these prices even now, let alone in the future if prices rise further. I've said this before but it's also nice that the world is waking up to the design of these superb (if quirky) cars and can finally see what we've always known. A front engined V12 Ferrari - what's not to like ????
with $175,000 invested(and a bad motor) I think it will be a while before I see break even. at 77 I am not sure Moses lived long enough. now the other old geezer meth--- or what ever at 800+ years. that should be my model
When I started looking for mine (let's say last November), prices had already risen a bit compared to what they were a few months ago. For the first one I've visited, the owner was asking 33k and it was really not a "show car". Didn't want to buy it but I offered 27, just to see... Seller said no, I know the car was sold a few weeks later (price??). I have also visited the "ex Jody Scheckter" 400 which has been for sale in Paris in January. Said no because of rust and electric bugs. Sold and shipped to Belgium two weeks later. Asking 40k. Let's go on... Two others, offered by professionals in Paris for at least a year, had just been sold. I had phoned one of them before. 27k, not been running for years, not even a recent service, ugly dashboard, whinshield cracked, had been sold when I phoned again two weeks later. The other one had been sold the day before I phoned for 30k. The seller told me how he was surprised this car gets so much interest as it had been for sale for so long. Many of the Italian 400 for sale where actually cars that had been standing for years in professional's garages without seeing light. Most of the ads have disappeared during the following months... To end whit that "price thing",I had a message yesterday from the professional german seller I bought mine from (a 400'fan, really kind gentleman, we are still in touch) just to say he was currently selling a 400ia, same condition as mine, for a much more higher price... I am only talking about 400i a... Think you are right BundasMitch, coming out because of what happened recently on the market to other models... But it looks like it works, not sure about the 100k ones (except for 365s). I totally agree with you, rusty, the only thing I see now is that I have been abble to have one of them at home Why such a gap between European and American market? I have noticed that, walking around on Fchat... Is the Old Continent more sensitive to beautiful things?!?😁
has less things to spend money on, the exception, refugees. but that will be another thread. the two 400's on Ebay sitting at a Fla. dealer will have to go to Europe before he gets his $85,000. they both have needs and that means $$$$. reality may set in at that dealership
Good day All Rather than creating another thread on this, I thought that I would simply add the October data to this one... If these prices are accurate it could lead to revitalization of the entire line. With prices like these it makes some economic sense to spend some money on them in maintenance and restoration.
Great update Sam,thanks; here my post to bring those I saw In Germany under this heading/update. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/365-gt4-2-2-400-412/500008-went-see-euro-dealer-germany-400i-412-a.html
When looking at the sky rocketing prices of the GT4 2+2,this example sure looks like a good investment : Ferrari 365 d'epoca - Gt4 2+2 ( a lucca) inserito il 02/10/2015 It sure does not look that bad and I can't see anything mentioned that is should have serious problems either. Anyone tempted for an autumn trip to Italy ?
Nice looking car - i like the colour but the blacked out window surrounds etc spoil it. Still, for 26000.......
