DOT Info for your car

in case you want to have or are looking for your original import DOT release forms for your car, contact DOT Washington at 202-366-4000, ask for Import Desk; then give your VIN number;they either have it in the computer or "in the book" (in case the person on the line says "i do not see that VIN #".)
They will email you thereafter a release form for your credit card , cost is $19.00, fill it out, fax or email it in, IMPORTANT- you then have to call 202-366-7982 and give your full CC info.
Just something I learned as I am gathering docs for my car.

sorry, forgot, it is only a one page letter but states the date of entry of the car into the US

 

Not really except that car will need to be federalized but they do not take any responsibility on that
