we are not that much interest in the value of our cars (?), but I just brushed Autoscout in Europe and made a quick analysis... it doesn't pretend to be anything special, just public info pulled together.

I'll be glad to hear the thoughts of the very many expert on FChat; I'm not in the car business, have no affiliation with anyone, it's hard to believe I'll ever sell my 365... just an academic exercise I'd like to do once a year... call it curiosity...

Hope you'll enjoy, have a great day !

Very nicely done! Would it be possible to include the detailed listing of the cars that you used in your presentation?

really good stuff Marco, would it be possible to add a page that showed difference between manual and auto as it seems to be bigger than ever.

We need to be careful, this is just (a part of) the European market... I don't know for sure, but I'd expect a different "attitude" to Automatic in the US.

Having said that all 365 are strictly manual... actually, the only acceptable transmission for the horsepower generated by an outstanding carburetted V12.... sorry, I'm digressing, guess what car I have...
Then, I've seen just 1 400GT (out of total 4) with auto

    Auto/manual are abt 50/50 for the "youngsters" 400i and 412 ( High/Low/Average, in k€ /# of cars)

    400i-M 129/60/90/8
    400i-A 80/46/65/7

    412-M 119/75/90/6
    412-A 109/80/94/4

Hard to judge on the statistical meaning of such a limited database... the manual 400's seem to be much more valued, while for the 412 the difference is marginal (if any)...

and we continue throwing money out of the window on our V12's ? do we really need a good excuse ? I don't think so... still it's good to see some sign that the world is eventually realizing these cars are GREAT !

    Have a good one, ciao

Here are some statistics on the manual to total production by model:

400: 145 (412 book) or 147 (Ferrari Market Letter) out of 501 total. 29% manual transmission.

    400i: 424 out of 1,308 total, 32% manual.

    412: 270 out of 576 total, 47% manual transmission.

Since all 521 365 GT4 2+2's were manual, the total number of manual transmission cars from the beginning to the end of the body style was 1,360 out of 2,906 or 47%.

I will note that the number of manual transmission cars is fewer than the number of manual transmission 365GTB/4 Daytonas! ;)

Thanks for posting this John. I'm curious, what source are you using for these figures? I thought I had read elsewhere here that the 412 manual percentages were lower than what you mention, but I'd have to do some searching to be sure.

    Cheers!

Wow yeah, surprised the number of 412 manuals compared to autos. I figured it would be much, much lower.

I think John (ashman) I right . In the UK (Rhd) though I think no of manuals % is lower for 400/412

Indeed Rob, so there are in fact very slightly more LHD manual 412s than LHD autos, which will be a surprise to many. My latest guesstimate is 246 LHD manual 412s versus 243 LHD autos.

Imagine how small the number is when you try to count how many are actually STILL on the road. I say decrease by at least a third.

That's an interesting subject. If I had to guess I'd say less than 50% are still driving.
