    hi guys
any clues where one could find an original steering wheel for a 1980 400i, other than hoping for one to turn up on eBay ? anybody have one lying around ? :))
mine came with a wooden Nardi, i'd just like to bring the car back to original as much as possible at some point...
    thanks !

They are out there. You'll find one. I used to buy them when they came up for sale. The last one I had sold for around $700US.

    Vladimir,
Ferrari changed from momo to Nardi wheels on the 400i part way through 1980, and based on your serial number I'm not certain which one would have been original to your car. This effectively means you can choose which you like best it's hard for anyone to argue that it's not original. David

Agree...the 1980 to 1981 cars had Nardi wheels with a change sometime in 1982 back to the Momo. So are you sourcing a Nardi or a Momo?

this is the wheel my car came with, which is a Nardi, so an assumption could be that the previous owner who replaced it, stayed w. Nardi, just wanted it in wood... but that's of course not certain...but i think i'll stay w. Nardi, as i like the split-spoke look...

    Maybe this one???
But there were different sizes 308/512/400, weren't there?

Looks like what I have got in mine and love it with black leather.

looks great/right...i wonder about the size and fit as well though, or did 512/365/400/412/308 all have the same mounts ?

Sorry...should have said 1981 and 1982 cars with return to Momo by 1983. Probably sometime in 1982 when the switch was made back to Momo.

This change was across the Ferrari line....308s, etc...

Yep Brian, I think we've talked about this and confirmed it before. Not many know there was an 18 to 24 month rift between Momo and Ferrari.

Mono and Nardi have different bolt patterns so if you switch to Momo you will need the corresponding hub.
