Hi all, is it me or does it seem like things have been a bit quieter than usual over the last couple of weeks around our beloved forum? I hope it's due to our beautiful rides getting a bit of exercise! Here's a recent trip to the coast for me. Cheers! Ruben Image Unavailable, Please Login
Summer in Florida, too hot in the garage to work on mine! Up on jack stands waiting on me to finish the brakes. Al PS. The A/C works great in the 360 so it's getting plenty of use.
It has been a bit quiet. It's been very boring for me for the last few weeks as well hobbling around with a sprained ankle. All that changed today though as I have just returned home from another drive up to the unlimited speed zone in the 400i - guaranteed to put me in a better mood. Cheers, Al
+1 curious how they handle at speed. BTW I didn't realize AU had roads with no speed limits... Sounds like fun! Cheers! Ruben
Hi Ruben, Only in one part of our Country, the Northern Territory. They make their own rules there. Lol
You bet. At least here. I have not seen my cars since last Dec. two more months in Ohio for surgery and stuff. Getting it all fixed at one time. They will all need a fluid change and new batteries
I had it up to 240 this run & there was no traffic so sat around 200 for most of the time. It handles really well at speed & sits nicely on the road. They would sit on 200 all day very comfortably. After sitting at speed for a while slowing down to 110 to come back into town feels like you could get out & run quicker. Maxed out at 260 the run before last. I think the speedo is fairly accurate but will take the GPS along sometime & check it again. Cheers, Al
Thanks Ruben, There is a wobbly video (taken by missus) of a run up in the unlimited section here - Video by AlCampbell - Shannons Club This was at full acceleration to 220. The first gear change is at 100 & the second at 160. Cheers, Al
That's right, 365's only have one you lucky dog, the lower alt's. on the later models are a bear to get out! Alright Al, go man!
Cool video Al! The car sounds great! It's really weird to see the car traveling that fast on what would be the "wrong" side of the road for those of us in left hand drive countries. Thanks for sharing it! That is one crazy cyclist to ride on an unlimited section... As a road cyclist myself, I would not venture anywhere near a road where vehicles could get at that much speed! Yikes! Cheers! Ruben
Mines not been out for a while (I'm embarrassed to admit). I recently bought a Maserati MC-Victory (1 of only 11 in the UK) so that's being used a bit, and on the sunniest days I'm using our classic Merc 280 SL, so all in all, the 400 is missing out a bit.
