Hi Folks, I can't believe it, but my interior door release handle broke off! I'm in Need of one, anyone have one to sell? It looks like brushed stainless steel (cast), still can't believe it broke off......
    Thanks, Bob ([email protected])

To increase your search chances, they are identical as used on a Fiat 130 Coupe.

I bought an interior handle used several years ago, but it is already starting to distort. I think they are cast from pot metal, not steel. It almost sounds like there might be demand to get these fabricated (maybe 3D printed??? if only to have something to tug on). I'll see what I can turn up in this area.

Someone post a pic or 3 - Michel can probably fabricate them to be better than new.

After my experience with the front bumper extensions from Michel I'll pass on that.

My driver's side one has been (inexpertly) repaired. I'm not sure the market is big enough to get a few made out of billet, but that would be nice.

Has anyone tried Eurospares lately to see if they are back in stock?
And the actual handle is the same for the right or left door handle if this helps.

The assemblies are handed, but the part that breaks is the same for left and right.

I have a good second hand pair (complete) to sell individually or as a pair.

I just looked at them carefully and only now realized that some clever chap has made a new handle/lever for one from a piece of brushed stainless steel with a mild steel pivot lug TIG welded on the back - almost indistinguishable from original (but bullet proof). Can't say which side is which w/o further checking.

    PM me if interested.

    Eurospares replied only with

    "This handle is obsolete."

Aidan, you wouldn't mind a visit to a breaking yard while you're in England?

If enough of us put our name on the waiting list Maranello might get them remanufactured - it worked with the water pump cover for me. :D It did take two years though.

I have received a reply from Maranello & they have the right hand side in stock.

    "Good Morning,

    Thank You for your enquiry,

They Are Handed, We Only keep the RH in stock now,

    257-30-810-02 £72.56 Retail In Stock"

They only sell as a complete unit as pictured but if you need the left you can use a pin punch to remove the broken handle from your existing one & the handle off a right hand one will fit in its place.

    Cheers,
    Al

Mr Fiat no longer has the interior handles. It seems buying RH handles is the only new option.

Please check first if that turning point of that handle is in the middle.
If changed mine on my Mondial some months ago and I think to remember that turning point whas not in the middle, so the right side cannot be used on the left side and vice versa.
THATS ON MONDIAL ! I dont know how those are on 400 series.

Any luck with the handle? I haven't found any source in this area yet, and my replacement just broke (very cold here), so I am ready to order. I guess I'll go to Maranello if no one has a better suggestion. I hope theirs is not pot metal. As always, I'm thankful for this forum.

Looks like Maranello spares is out of stock. I received a pair of used handles from forum member Bill in Australia and one of the levers is made from stainless steel plate. It's so well done you'd think it came from New Zealand! Anyway, I'm going to try and reverse engineer with a machinist friend to see what it would cost to do a run of handles. I think a machined aluminum part with a hard anodized finish might be the best route. We'll see.

I'm very interested in the stainless handle from GT Jones. Meanwhile, tired of rolling the window down to get out, I've ordered the rh handle from Maranello, and I received advice from DHL that it's on it's way for delivery Monday, so I guess they have some left. I'll advise Monday night.
