    Hello dear friends!!

After owning a lovely white testarossa # 76407 during 5 years i decided to sell it and go for something different...

I fell in love with this 1994 Ferrari 456 GT ..

I love the color combination : "Blue Scuro with tan"

I will post more photos during the weekend!!

Soon i will start working on the car and will certainly ask for some help from all the members of this section :) If you don´t mind of course!!!

Looks absolutely wonderful - a fine example of one of Ferrari's secrets.. You will be surprised how nimble the car feels on a mountain road!

I would also value your comparison between the TR and the 456 - although very different cars.

Is the paint metallic? my '94 is blu scuro (fer510) and it is solid colour and looks a bit darker - what does the paint sticker say?

Welcome to the community! There is a plethora of threads and information on this site. I am also a new owner of a 456 GT '95. I look forward to learning everything about our cars. But the best feeling is the ear to ear grin it provides on a spirited drive.

    Best regards and congratulation!

    Love the colour combination.
I would be interested to know your thoughts on both cars, as from a rear to front engine car is s abig change along with the differing technology.

    Love the colour combination.
I would be interested to know your thoughts on both cars, as from a Tesstarossa to 456 front engine car is a big change along with the differing technology. Which do you believe is the easier to live with?

Thank you for the kind words!! :) :)

They are very different type of cars , the testarossa is more intimidating to drive , very wide !

The TR is good for highway but it demands more attention from the driver! Not good for track days! My car had a tubi exhaust so it was loud and atracted lots of attention.

The 456 is a more relaxed car to drive , more comfortable , more space BUT with lots of power!!!! It really goes!!!!

It´s more discrete (the 456) , and has a great driving position!!

I will tell more about driving the 456 during the next days!!!

Vitor, many thanks for the photos - your car is in beautiful condition - it is 108 serial numbers different from mine, so it would have been in Maranello at about the same time. The paint sticker explains - maybe the paint on yours was a special order? It is very attractive - I'm sure that the photos do not do it justice. Comparing Fiorano lap times, the 456 is faster than the 512, but of course it is a later design. I think the 456 is very fast, but then my previous experience is with Alfas, Lancias and Lotus - not a 512!

Enjoy the 456, it is a great car - discreet, fast, reliable and one of Pininfarinas best designs...

When the engine is at idle speed i feel a slight vibration inside the car ...

Could it be the engine mounts?

If you guys don´t mind i will start posting some updates on all the work we (RGigante and i) will do on the 456GT.

I noticed noise on the thrust bearing , so i have to take the huge exhaust line out.

There is a small oil leak on the steering rack , so i will take it out to be rebuilt.

I do not usually post, but have used FerrariChat as a my primary source for researching
these cars.(As a member of FCA for 44 years I lurk in the shadows.)
Like you I favored the Testa Rossa as one of the outstanding Ferrari's ever.
I read your posting of the engine out service and felt "I can do that!".
But when common sense is considered I considered the 456 or 550 as a practical
choice. Your 456 has excellent color combinations, and a 6 speed would also be my option of choice.
There is much information about some minor issues with these cars, especially the motor mounts.
Since you mention your steering rack, that will be the most likely area to see if the
mounts have settled down into the chassis. I'm assuming the 456 and 550 layout is similar.
Keep posting your progress on these adjustments, it helps us too.

A few weeks ago I found my 550, and as you will see from the picture.
It smiles like I do when I drive.
