I've talked to the seller and saw the car when it was listed on CL at 65K. The seller is somewhat difficult and arrogant. I thought the car was a nice example...I left to think about it and when I called back he told me the car was sold. Then the car reappeared on CL for 75K...In fact both CL ads were up at the same time at one point. Then both ads were removed and now the car is listed on ebay for 89K. Not sure, but I believe it is still the same seller.
Henry- As you well know, she does not have Daytona seats, but she does have the dreaded Chinese wheels. Prices have gotten really ridiculous. Someone is asking $95K for a Euro spec 550 right now. Many of these are cars that were $60-70K a short time ago. Folks are getting greedy.
I agree Taz even here some owners are considering $ 100,000 CDN (about $90,000 US) for theirs, we are talking 550 and not 575 here. Just a few months ago Ferrari Quebec sold two nice red 575 for the same budget ( one to a FChat member). I was considering myself a 550 but at that asking price I'd rather go for a 612 instead.
With respect to prices, here in Germany this car is offered at a competetive price (29,900.-- Euro, about 38,500.-- US$): Ferrari F 550 Maranello / 1. Hand / Vollausstattung als Sportwagen/Coupé in Anzing bei München Drawback: over 266,000 km, i.e. about 165,000 miles (no typo) It is interesting to note that the description does not mention an exchange engine, but permanent service only, including new exhaust manifold. This seems to show, how reliable this model is, if properly kept ..
tks.. wasn't sure if it was a flipper issue or some sort of scam... prices have firmed and/or risen on virtually everything. i posted a non sale related blurp on my porsche speedster and started getting PMs asking about a sale.
That car has been relisted on Ebay for months. All it takes is one but I just hope all the would be fishes swim here first, for their sake. Someone ended up buying the infamous Vegas Rent-A-Vette car too, right?
