Not sure how old this is and hope it is not an FChatter. 418 lb-ft of torque and 1st gear on grass/dirt can so some amazing things. Friday FAIL: This Ferrari Crash is just Sad - MotoringExposure
Very common situation for people who are not used to drive RWD cars with power (well, nearly all RWD cars have power, thats the reason they are RWD and not FWD): Too much gas while the steering wheel is still turned in. Looks like he had switched off ASR (does a Barchetta have ASR?). Else ASR could have saved him. Markus
Thanks for posting that video. It's a good reminder that stupid knows no age. I tell myself that I know better but just last month I was tooling on one of my old motorcycles and saw some neighborhood kids. I couldn't resist and left a trail of tire smoke. When I got to the corner I couldn't believe what I had done. I guess that dumb teenager is still a part of me. Greg
What a complete idiot, probably burns through clutches every 2K miles. The look on his face said, "Why didn't I buy the one with the roof and tinted windows?"
That website features a cavalcade of idiots. Here's the full video of the Gallardo driver shown at the end... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPRVvjV2uuA](HD) Lamborghini Gallardo Nearly hits a Tree and Nearly hits a Man! Very close Call! - YouTube[/ame]
+1 If that kid had been a bit closer this video would be that of a serious tragedy...not only is that driver lacking in skills behind the wheel but he is also lacking in common sense and brain power. Surely he had to have seen that boy standing mere feet from the spot where he decided to launch his car...hopefully he learned something from this episode.
Although I am yet to drive mine more than a few yards, surely they cant be that hard to drive.................
Try it on an empty parking space (easier to the tires when it is wet): Switch off ASR, turn the steering wheel and push the throttle pedal while in 1st gear. See what happens I learned driving RWD cars 12 years ago when I bought my Maser 3200. Quite a dangerous car, especially when the roads are wet. I had some "difficult" situations. The 550/575M is much easier to drive because the engine delivers its power very linear. Markus
The driver cannot handle the power. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ePTtUFSf-c]Yellow Lamborghini Gallardo Crashes in Chicago Suburbs - YouTube[/ame]
An HGTC in a dry car park from approx. 2m15s onwards. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZU1yDAaPKuI It all looks to be under control but a degree or two of mechanical sympathy is lacking!
Nice find and post. Would say an accurate representation of HGTC sounds, pretty sure with functioning bypass valves. With valves open full time the most noticeable difference is on downshifts and louder idle. +1 on lacking mechanical sympathy. Bill FL
A cavalcade of morons... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdLHAqL8KJw]Super car driver idiots [NO pics, only videos] - YouTube[/ame] Lots of "Oh ****!" and "Oh ****!" in that video.
ASR off. Idiot light on. There was a zero percent chance of that car doing what the driver wanted it to.
On the plus side, apparently if you drive a Barchetta, it's OK to damage a bystanders car showing off your stupidity, and then just drive off unconcerned! Kool.
