My new purchase was picked up on Monday. ..7 to 10 days from Connecticut to my home in So Cal. That seems like an eternity :( With gas prices down, the cost was $1650 enclosed door to door. I had the seller document the loading process for a couple of reasons. I was promised a top front load so the car wouldn't be moved on and off the trailer during the delivery of other's cars. Note that the car has not be lifted to the top yet in the second pic. The ramp moves hydraulically up to the top position. Additionally, I was promised that the car would not be moved to another rig during its' travel. Both of these stips I paid for and I wanted to insure that is in deed what I got.
The anticipation may be more exciting than sex...well maybe...:)

When you get it let us know. How about one of your 1st drives head south to meet me, Bruce and Vince. They will tell you lies about how fast their 8 cylinder cars are and we can tell them how they need to upgrade to an easy 500HP, have endless torque and 12 cylinders of true Ferrari.

I'd love to head south to meet you guys, but my car has no record of a belt service and the seller has had the car since 2008. He also has no clue when the prior owner changed the belts, if at all. I'm a little nervous taking this car anywhere, except straight to my garage. I'm always up for lies and a through the roof BS session...Isn't that what racers do? :) But it will have to be without my yelo hot rod.

Pretty Maranello you have there, GS. Get those belts changed right away.

Once upon a time there were 23 other valves that looked like this...

Hey, Bill! Your trunk is open! :)

Both of my 550s were purchased within a short drive, so I never had the delivery experience with them, but I sure did with the GTC and the 2.7RS and it truly is a memorable experience. In the case of the Carrera I was awakened at 7AM to the sound of the Horseless Carriage driver releasing the rig's compressed air system. I can only think of one or two nicer ways to wake up! :)

I never got to see one come off the truck but when I got the call on the one I ordered and waited for and he said, "The eagle has landed", I must have driven that 3 miles down Wilshire in 30 seconds.

Congratulations, welcome to the yellow 550 club, I've had mine for the last ten years and I think it's a great color on the car.

My favorite color for Maranellos and most Ferraris. My Daytona was Giallo Fly with black blood groove.

Finally, someone else who likes yellow/giallo over beige/cuoio! I was starting to think that I was the only one. Gorgeous car, GS....T

Wait, the anticipation is more exciting than sex, or the anticipation is more exciting than the anticipation of sex? Because there's a difference. ;)

Congratulations, GS, she's a stunner for sure. Yellow is a striking color for the Maranello. Many people ordered their Maranellos in understated colors - and really there's no bad color for the 550/575M - but when you hear it, and then you turn and look and see it streaking across an urban or desert landscape in Giallo, it's quite a sight! Can you tell us the serial number? There are more yellow 550s than one might thing. I saw a post recently where someone said yellow was, I think, the eighth most popular color on the 550.

S/N 117119-Seems you're cataloging 550 VINs and noted history. If so, that's a great service and we should all thank you for this. And yes, I meant anticipation to anticipation :)
Oh, and to an earlier question, I am told that the wheels were manufactured by Speedline, which subsequently sold to Champion Motorsports. If anyone is interested, I'll be selling these wheels off, as I have ordered a set of 19" NF2 Novitecs.

Well, in the USA/Canada yellow was the sixth most popular color. There are about 47 documented yellow ones. Only 1 less then TDF blue...
