Driving this weekend I had a tire that blew out on me and I guess it's due to being low pros. I was wondering if I can replace the front tires that are 255/25/ZR19 Pirelli PZeros with 245/30/ZR19's? Any help would be very much appreciated from the guys who have 19's on their 550/575's
    Thank you

Steve- Just replaced mine with Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 255/35 19 and 305/30 19. Highly recommended.

google one of those tire comparison calculators. It will show all the spec changes from one to the other. I ran your specs and most of the changes were pretty minimal.

Steve- Do you really have 255/25 19s on the front? Those would be a full 2" smaller in diameter than the recommended 255/35 19s.

I'm really confused. Do you have 18" or 19" wheels?

I am unaware of 255/25/19s available from any manufacturer. Assume you mean 255/35/19? I bent a front rim and cracked a rear due to the low profile, so I know what you mean. My solution was to stay off of bad roads. :) I think that any increase in diameter will cause a problem with clearance. I think that your only option is to go back to 18" wheels if you want a higher profile. Obviously, you will sacrifice performance.

I strongly recommend Michelin Super Sports over the Pirelli P Zeros. Better handling and longer wear. Best of both worlds.

    Hi Taz,
Unfortunately those are the tires I was recommended to get at first but in hind sight I guess it is too low pro for driving on NY road. I will check on the 235/35/19s as you said but I have HRE's on the car will it be the same as the modular wheels you have on your and no problems with clearance?
    Thanks in advance

Steve- Assuming the fronts are no wider than 9" or so, they will work fine.

I think they are 9.5 and thats why they used 25 rather than 35. Do you think 245/30/19's will do?

Steve- No, way too small in diameter. 255/35 19 tires are good for 8.5"- 10" wheels, so perfect for your wheels, and just about everybody makes them.

You got some bad advice last time. Hope it was not from me. Aspect ratio does not really affect width, just height/diameter.

I have 355/25 R19 rear tyres on my 456M GT. However dont remember what tyres are on the front axle.

Had them on my NF2s, too, with 255/35 19s on the fronts. I bet your rear tires are 6 years old, too.

Got a pair of brand new Pzero tyres 355/25 R19 today occasionally. Manufactured on 14th week of 2008. What is the right price to sell em?

Armen- They are pretty much timed out. 6 years is about it for high performance, or any, tire.

As a replacement, I would recommend Michelin Pilot Super Sports in 345/30 19. Bigger in diameter, but has worked well on 456s-575s fitted with Novitec NF2s and other similar extra wide rear wheels with no ABS/ASR problems.
