This beauty has recently popped up for sale in the UK... £180k = $280k 2B Consulting Automotive :: 2000 Ferrari 550 Maranello World Speed Record
That price is ridiculous. Looks stunning, love how it's been specced but that price is definitely not what it's worth in the current market. Try again in 10 years... If it was one of the 10 RHD examples £130K would be a good asking price.
I'd like to see the motor bay in there. Are the WSR cars documented in some way like the 32 348 challenge cars that were mostly different in name only but could be set apart if the 348 challenge kits were installed? Heck some of the 32 348 challenge cars did not even have the riveted on door jam number plate!
I spotted the diesel gaff in the Autoluce, Modena listing but was it also a gaff that there were 80 WSR's? P.S. I feel like sneaking in there at night and swapping the 550 wheels on their red 2003 575M with the 19" modulars fitted to that WSR as it would look better on original wheels IMO! P.P.S. There's 27 nice photos of it on Autoluce's site... http://www.autoluce.com/EN/autofull.php?id=1418829479#!prettyPhoto[550%20WSR]/0/ and 50 of their 'as-new' Barchetta. http://www.autoluce.com/EN/autofull.php?id=1398322947#!prettyPhoto[Barchetta]/0/
I have just been offered this particular car- What is the maximum/ minimum value on these in todays market and where are they likely to be in, say, 10 years?
The subject Rosso Corsa / Beige 550 WSR Chassis No. 123215 appears to have a new owner courtesy of the recent Historics at Brooklands auction in the UK. £179,200 hammer price. Historics at Brooklands - Specialist Classic and Sports Car Auctioneers - 2001 Ferrari 550 World Speed Record Edition Didn't make a note of what it was up for sale at Autoluce in Modena but seem to recall that it was somewhat below this level.. Should serve to support the £180k asking price for the other (lower miles) Rosso Corsa / Nero LHD 550 WSR currently offered.. Used 2000 Ferrari 550 for sale in Cheshire | Pistonheads And both would appear to make this rather tasty low miles LHD 550 offered in the UK look cheap at £98k. Used 1997 Ferrari 550 Maranello LHD 3,000 Miles for sale in Buckinghamshire | Pistonheads
The one that sold had a couple of additions that were not original, the 19" 575 wheels already mentioned and the carbon fiber shift knob without the carbon fiber package.
I think it was good value against the more common barchetta and superamerica. Time will tell where these lovely cars go.
The 2B car apparently sold for a higher price than this. There are now two WSR models for sale. One in Germany may not be an authentic (no VIN # is published) and another goes to auction in UK in November (median estimate pricing is $90,000 more than the 2B car)
