    The manual calls for R134 "2.86 LBS" of refrigerant does anyone know if this is typo? All the service technicians I have spoke to say this very high and are advising I use less.

    Your tech should fill it with 700g and add as required. Pressures and temps will tell him when it's full enough.

    ... the reason they spec the 2.86 lbs is to try and compensate for the lack of cooling when in stop and go traffic. My guess, is that once cold they hoped it might buy some time before getting super heated from the lack air passing through the heat exchanger - even with both fans running. Checked for blockage of the heat exchanger and radiator.
