Noticed after a coolant change, via independent mechanic, my temperature control system is not working very efficiently. Not too cool when on full air con and not to warm when on full heat, barely any heat actually, as compared to before the coolant change

Suspect there may be air in my cooling system?
To bleed the system further, after full warm up and temperature control setting on full heat, per WSM, its not very clear whether to open the bleeder screw with the engine on or off?
Could this be the issue even?

    Thanks
    Ron

I do mine from cold with the engine on. Wait for bubbles of air to stop. Then close. Later fill up the reserve tank with antifreeze to the right level.

This seems pretty easy. I wonder if the 550 has a low coolant level sensor? I mean, if for some reason there is a leak while driving, a fast indicating level sensor can avoid total engine failure. Anybody who knows?

Only one item I didn't mention,to get all the air out repeat 2 or 3 times. Thank you Taz for the extra details.

Sometimes helps to have her parked on an incline or jacked slightly in the front to ensure the bleed valve is the top of the system. My techs use a pressure system that pushes all the air out.
