Hello friends , I would like to share with you some photos of our recent road trip with our 456GT. It´s a 1994 model with 120.000 km 650 KM in 2 days through the north of Portugal . Some highway drive and some country roads with almost no traffic. The car behaved very well , easy to drive , lots of torque and very comfortable. Darius, I seriously think you should consider Portugal (namely northern Portugal) as a contender for hosting one of your essays and test-drives. Scenic routes, challenging yet quiet roads, exquisite food, welcoming people and lovely weather. A trendy, yet not-so-discovered/covered ground in Europe when it comes to cars and Ferraris. Needless to say, we'd be honoured and thrilled to have you and deeply humbled by your presence. Having had the pleasure of meeting Vitor's car in person and, Vitor being the incredibly kind person he is, also the first V12 Ferrari I've ever driven in my life. Vitor's 456 shade of Blu overcomes any adjective, under any light, any circumstance, any angle. Maintained with the utmost care, runs as strong at 120.000km on the clock as it did when it had just 12.000km. A 2+2 allows an unrivaled roadtrip: your whole family aboard, to enjoy a Ferrari ride. Not having to choose between who goes along for the ride and who stays home. That is special. I couldn't be happier for my friend Vitor: if anyone deserves special rides in his Ferrari with his family, it's Vitor. I took an even greater pleasure in seeing his family smile in those photos than I would have if I had taken that journey myself. Kindest regards, Nuno.
Vitor- Beautiful photos and car. Sounds and looks like a great trip. Have never been to Portugal, looks like it is worth a visit.
Great photographs from a great trip. And, as someone earlier said, you used a Ferrari for a family vacation. That blue (is it TdF?) has always been my favorite color for your car. Great report. Thanks!
Nuno, I would love to. The only time I drove a proper car in Portugal (aside from boring holiday rentals) was on the launch of the BMW Z4M, back in the early 2000s. Between Lisbon and Faro on these amazing, empty, smooth roads with view after view and great tight turns to push the back out. A few car manufacturers launch cars in Portugal still, unfortunately my schedule no longer allows me to go to such events. And driving a car with a random journalist is not at all like driving a 456 with your nearest and dearest! Like drinking a fine wine with someone you don't want to be with. But, would love to come to Portugal in my 575. One day....
Darius, Here's a little appetizer (GTC4Lusso's presentation). Except that bit filmed in the snow (we don't get much of that here), it's all Portugal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4KGELExSnXU Kind regards, Nuno.
Now THAT'S a family vacation! A 456 as a "Family Truckster"...Clark Griswold is so jealous. Not sure how you'd lash poor deceased Aunt Edna to the roof, but since there's no room for her to go along anyway, not a factor. Awesome trip!
What a perfect trip Vitor, congrats! That' what these cars where made for... Having had my 550 inspected by the german TÜV, the car passed without any complains, it's running faultless as well (...but certainly not as intensively used as yours).
