So we know that all the parts (retainer, bolt nut) of the 575 motor mount are required to replace the failing 550 mounts. What do I do on the driver side which seems to be the most difficult side. The steering rack needs to be pushed aside, but what do I do with the coupling? Do I detach the coupling with the single bolt at the U-joints and push it aside? Or do I have to dismantle the full steering rack in order to get to the mount? I was thinking to push the motor already up before staring to undo the mounts. I figure if they have collapsed I should be able to push up and give myself maybe an extra centimeter half an inch. Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are several other threads on FC, some are more explanatory than others regarding the steering rack issue. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/456-550-575-sponsored-bradan/180998-engine-mounts.html Good luck. Jerry
That is correct phil but i am afraid that the lower bolt remains out of reach with this methode on the driver side.
